Simultaniously lower the value of the MKIII and the MKIV

Too modern of a look on that car, if you ask me... but I will agree that the work looks to be very good.

What exhaust to do and which one do you have

I am running a Tanabe Hyper medallion exhaust on my supra and I love it. Nice and quiet at idle, but it opens up at WOT. Should be just right with the 3" downpipe when it's all back together. But I am going to have to agree with the rest of them, you just have to find Supras with various...

    Leecheater's rebuild, getting there

Dan, I really hope that my car gets up and moves like yours does. That drive was an absolute blast!\ Also, you and Sean have the best freakin luck with mishimoto radiator fitment. It's just not fair.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

AEM EMS is on its way from Canada land! I gets a mint harness too, so no more melty/burned/oil-soaked/split insulation with 195,000 in it! I'm very poor now, but very happy. :icon_bigg I'll also be picking up the engine Friday after work, and then the real building begins. Hours upon hours of...

    92nsx's supra build

So if I end up getting the one I've been looking at, we'll see the differance between the gts and to4e housings.

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Engine will be Thursday night for sure! Just got the e-mail from my machine shop (at 1:30 AM) Sweeeeeet!!! Now I just have to wait for the new (proper fitting) radiator so I can run it, won't that be fun?

    oil pan gasket

Personally, I use Toyota black FIPG, but that's just what I'm used to using. Works great when the surfaces are nice and clean, as do most other RTV's. The nice thing about "The right stuff" is that it's pressurized so your hands don't get sore after 1/3 of the pan.

    Running warm, almost hot

Chunks is right, the water pump can't "create" pressure in the cooling system, it merely makes a pressure differential that moves the water through the coolant passegeways. Skim's got the right idea- t-stat&gasket, rad cap, then see where you're at then. Might as well flush the cooling system...

    Speedometer Cable Install Issue

Silicone spray is what I like to use for temporary rubber lubrication. Parts slide together well and then they stay there once it dries. Syl-glide/vaseline keep it slippery, so it might pop out later on.

    What to do... Next

I vote for both of the above! Following the guide, Exhaust is one of the next logical steps. Just make sure you can deal with the one you choose, I love my Tanabe Hyper medallion- nice and quiet, but has the flow of the really loud ones. Be sure to get it all, too. Downpipe (with elbow), hi-flow...

    Power Steering Problems

A whining pump can mean 2 things: 1- fluid flow is blocked and the pump is bypassing at maximum pressure, or 2- it could mean that the pump is worn internally and needs replacement. It's not easy to tell the differance between the two, and the only real test you can do is a pressure test of the...

No accel during boost..whining after shut off

I'm going to side with RazoE, the sulfur dioxide (rotten egg) smell usually points to a problem with the cat. Try unbolting it and running the car for a quick squirt up the street, just be sure to support your exhaust so it doesn't catch on the road.

8 cranks to start when 1/2 warm: fact of life?

I thought it would do that. Heatsoak is taking the pickup coils out of spec *edit- not out of spec, just higher resistance*, but not so far as I would have expected to cause this kind of starting issue. Oil in the CPS can cause the insulation for the pickup coils and the wires going to them to...

touching light bulbs will ruin them?

Headlight and foglight bulbs are affected by this the most. They run the hottest and the oils create "hot spots" on the glass which lead to failure. Brake bulbs and other small bulbs run cooler so it doesn't usually show up in them.
