ok, does anyone here have an ecu he modified and can they pull the cover and tell us which crystal he replaced and with what crystal? seems a generic mod to me. just slows the clock speed iirc. and could slow it 5 or 10%. 5% was 7200 and 10 was like 8k if i remember right. id want 7200 on stock...

well, i got 2 complete sets of coils from late 80's nissan pulsar's wit hthe harnesses, so i have 8 coils. gonna test them and use the 6 best and make a harnes for them and a bracket for them to bolt to so it looks nice and clean in between the valve covers. guess i dont need he msd coils after all.

well, then if i can get some 2j coils i might go that route. but even if i cant the msd coils should be a nice upgrade to the stockers.

well, the guy that did dual ignitors mentioned his ignition breaks up at high rpm's, and my new 7m will rev to 8k rpm's. going all out cams and all. so figured id grab these coils since the ls1 coils are so exspensive and would still require 2 ignitors.

well, i have an extra ignitor, so thats not a prob. like i said, ill prolly go for the msd's myself. itll be just over $100 for the set, which is about what 2jz coils go for and ive heard they break up at high rpm. these shouldnt. i wont get to try them for a while yet, but they are on the to do...

well, the coils i have are old and tired. im wondering if anyone has used these coils to replace the stockers. i figure id use 7mge msd wires and then mount these on the firewall. these should have a better spark then new stock coils and are much cheaper. opinions? id prolly opt for the msd...

ok, i just checked the site again, and it does look like they are 9:1. i might just grab those anyway as the chambers of my head have been reshaped and cleaned up, so that increased the chamber volume. the lower dish on the pistons will help counteract that.

wheres the cheapest place to get wiseco pistons for the 7mgte? part # k613m84 they are 1mm over stock comp. i figure since ross pistons have gone up might as well spend the little extra for the wiseco's. cheapest ive found so far was $650. im sure there must be somewhere that has them cheaper or...

if i were you id just get mt drags next time since you have an extra set of wheels. thats what i plan to do. get some 26x10.5x15 et drags. though that wont be for a long while as the nittos i have for the 15's are new and lots of meat left. prolly take a ton of strip passes to wear them out.

yeah, sounds liek the burnout was too long, and also, i dont know anyone other then you that ever used those tires. i have nitto nt555r's and i love them. have a set of 275/50/15's im dedicating to track only use. havnt had a chance to mount them on the 15x7 enkie's i have, if they bulge too...

i was always told with dr's lower them to 15psi tire pressure, then do a 6sec or so burnout, then just launch. my nitto;s grab great on the street. havent gotten to try them at the track yet. might be that they are brand new. did you have them heatcycled first? it costs extra but helps.
