The lower "redline" is just on the tach it really doesn't have anything to do with the actual crank.
(I "think" the hardcut limit is lower but this seems to vary car to car)
I was running a stock weight 7M crank to 8300 with no ill effects.

220 is pretty bad.... 240 is well into the danger zone.

If you mean my comment on "old school stupidity" I was talking about who ever gutted the T Stat thinking it was a good "mod".

In the old days when cooling was marginal at best and people didn't trust T Stats that was a common "mod".....
What does your car do under load temp wise?
If it runs hot with no T Stat your cooling system is right on the edge capacity wise.
Mine will just keep getting colder and colder at cruise if I don't run one, you can watch it open and close at cruise on the laptop.
Who cares which direction it's from?

I've been thinking about getting the EDFC actuators and using the MoTeC to drive them to get the above functionality on my Koni's.
If it were me I'd take my shiny new TEMS units to a shock specialist and have them revalved +20%, then with the controller adjustment it would allow you to run uprated springs without the soft setting pogostick dramas.
This should serve as a warning to anyone with even minor oil leaks on that side of the engine.... DON'T put it off fixing it.
