I think from memory there's a 15>20% difference in flow from the testing a bud with an EFI shop here did, personally I'd go German 044 if I could find them, I couldn't so ended up with a pair of Aeromotive Tsunami's here.
Ran one with a Denso in tank and by comparison it was MUCH louder Dave!
The 044's are much the same as the intank 040's, the only difference being the 040 has a screen instead of a tapped boss so it should be fine, there's a company in the USA that does a nice AN Filter sock for the 044 to use...
Koni have done it for decades, there's a receiver groove in the Spring seat that underload forces the clip into the shock body so it's NOT going to fail anytime soon. ;)
