The holes in the washers are way too big and don't centre, the above "mod" makes it an idiot proof install as you don't need to try and centre them by hand and hope they don't move as you tighten the nuts.

As for the brakes NFI there's no interconnection between the 2 other than the meatbag in the driver's seat ;)
Depends on the connector, most have a little lock tab that can be pressed with a tiny jewllers screwdriver then you pull the wire and pin out of the connector and put it in the plug that fits. (needs to be the same type of pin to work)
Yes FAR better than cutting/soldering/crimping.
