    Personally I think any gains are so small they're outweighed by the risk of damage/decreased performance if you get a dud load of fuel. Think of the Knock Sensors as "Explosion Detectors" they take action after the fact and often with a 7M that can be too late and ends in :cry:

    Why do you think changing the base timing is going to lean out anything? Detonation damage from doing the above if the octane can't support the new timing ISN'T going to turn the engine into a plasma cutter it may BHG or break ring lands.

    Plumbing the accumulator in on the non filtered side =bad Clearences are pretty close to what I ran in my old 7M, I had a good result using Castrol 10/60 Synthetic and a 5mm shim in the pump relief.

    They can fail it's a harsh environment for them to live in. They also have tiny windings so are easily damaged.

    Check the external wiring first ;) Make sure there's voltage on that wire before draining it.
