not sure about the pre '89 pickups. for my '94, all i need is a motor, a w58 bellhousing, ecu, 5M motor mounts and wiring harness. it's my summer project.

did you check the clutch master/slave cylanders? i mean, it might seem as if it's hanging up, but you could just have a problem with the slave not pushing the fork in, and in that case, (if it's leaking badly) you wouldn't be able to put the car in gear when started.

make sure you cover the OP sending unit port, as well as the drain bung for the turbo. you don't want anything falling in there... (and the dipstick tube, too)

you're not going to gain a whole lot by removing the AFM on an N/A car. that is absolutely NOT the reason i switched to the MAFTpro, but it was a benefit. (but nowhere near a deciding factor)

^ agreed. when i had my boost set to 15psi on my EBC (built into the MAFTpro), it wouldn't creep at all. rock solid boost, no problems.
when i had it set lower (about 8psi, it would creep to 10) ever since i increased the boost to past 10psi, i've had no creep issues at all.
