quoted for truth. wider tires won't help you that much in a straight line. wider tires help with cornering. stickier, taller tires will help. sidewall flex.
that being said, "grip" is generally thought to be used in cornering, which this conversation doesn't talk about, so i changed the...
when it's complete, i'm hoping that it will look like i DIDN'T cut that much out. yeah, they need quite a bit of room for mounting. all part of the game i suppose!

you have more to think about aside from wanting a lower ride height. what are you using the car for? are you looking for a progressive rate spring, or a linear rate spring?
lowering is just one side of the coin. for example, i found out the hard way (several years ago) that i hate progressive...
drjonez has the info on his sites, which are both in my signature. (for re-wiring) or you could replace the N/A tach board with a turbo one. ;)

well, it definatly depends on what your plans are for the car. the maftpro is an awesome computer, with tons of features, and it's really not expensive if you look at what else is offered and their options compared with the maftpro's.

check your codes.

i'm not done with it yet, though i'm getting so close i can taste it.
worst part for me= cutting my radiator core support in 4 spots, thus weakening it substantially. i'll re-brace it down the road a bit.
one pic of how much needs to be cut from one side is right here in this thread...
IJ. is correct here. there's nothing wrong with the stock bolts. nothing at all. it was only the torque setting of 50-something ft lbs that gave them a bad reputation. torque them to 72ft lbs and you'll be fine.
edit: and in case it wasn't clear, i mean to use NEW stock headbolts...

heater valve- 87240
see the metal bar attached to the bottom of it? pull it up with the heat on high and the car running. it will allow coolant to pass through the heater core, thus giving you heat. if it won't stay up, check the vacuum line, and if it still won't stay up and the vac line is...
