damn! that would have been sweet. :( i met Genna, his wife, and PJ. (i guess PJ used to own a supra, and we all likely know who Genna is)
oooohh. some boobies for shaeff? i'll just assume they're for Bryan. he's certainly the man of the hour!
oh, it's an absolute beast. honestly, the pics he's posted do it absolutely NO justice. it's really a work of art, and the craftsmanship is top notch!
thanks! :) though, i can't take any credit for this one. Bryan was the mastermind. i was just along for the ride. :)
on a side note: this...
right on. i edited the post. ugh.
uh, it should do that? (it does it on my comp)- we just added that feature with the new .vb upgrade.
yeah, i'm forever editing people's posts, doing just that. :(
also- BJ91T- it looks like you're going to have problems with the oil return line...
i vote do it yourself. :) i just did my headgasket, and timing assembly in my driveway in the cold. :) i'd have liked to rebuild it, but i plan on swapping a 7m in there anyway. :)
otherwise, i can't help you, sorry. :(
oh hell yes. :) once i get this back together, the car can be dropped to all fours again. it's been on jackstands for entirely too long!
thanks, he sure did! i'd put money on that. i don't think this bad boy is goin' anywhere!
i believe that Bryan will do work for anyone, really. send him a...
nah, he started tig welding it all because he ran out of gas for the mig. (and refused to make shitty welds) :) we ended up getting a huge tank from his friend, (which was real cool of him). all the welds you see are mig.
i gotta go to bed, i'll label more pics tomorrow. stupid 8am work!
this is leftover roll cage tubing from bryan's roll cage in the dragster i'm sure you all have seen pics of. (and pics do it absolutely NO justice!) now my subframe is good for six seconds. lol.
first piece tacked in place:
lunchtime! white pizza with garlic chicken and broccoli. it was delicious!
my "i'm stalking bryan" pic. haha!
welded some corners in. top and bottoms of these are welded. hooray for support!
shaeff saying: FUCK YOU SUBFRAME! i DARE you to...
alright, here's a crap-ton of pics! all clickable thumbnails!
'blasted subframe in very light primer to prevent lots of rust:
Bryan starting his magic:
grinding of the wicked crack i had going on. (see previous pics for reference)
Bryan started to tig weld it. ran out of mig gas...
alright boys and girls, it's time for an update! when we left off, i had dropped and stripped the rear subframe. i was waiting to find a place that would sandblast it for me, which i eventually found.
Bryan (slow66) agreed to do some welding for me, and finally we found a day where we were...
if you remove the intake hose, and filter, you can get at it pretty easily if you're nimble. i can't remember how i did mine. i might have gone from underneath.
i'm curious if it'll actually affect structural rigidity or not. it looks to me that all the weight transfer would be directed through those little steel squares. are the bars tied in on both sides, or just one?
and if you're putting a cage in it, i can't imagine you'd feel the difference with...
