Hey, i was reading in SuperStreet last night and they have a small thing on oil in there and what weight should be used chosen by main bering tolerance. And I still think that 20W-50 is the best choice for our cars:
.0025" - .003" - 40W @ 100*C (e.g. 5W-40, 10W-40, 15W-40)
>.003" - 50W @...
I'm desperately thinking of ways I could make my way out there. Right now the only thing I'm worried about is how I can get my car totally prepped to get out there and back with no problems. (read BHG) It has 75k miles on a stock engine rebuilt by Toyota.
If I can get out there I'm looking...
Order that pipe directly from greg @ Cooleeze. I found his pricing direct to much substantially cheaper then the ones listed on SupraSport. It looks like a nice product and it ceramic coated as well!
Car and driver ran an 87 turbo @ 15.0 flat. Obviously thats bone stock.
And contrary to you PynkEye, I have heard that the G-tech are very accurate for everything besides HP, in which they read high.
I don't know what to tell ya about those #'s though...
The USDM linkage won't hook up to a JDM TB either though; since that metal rod connects to it on the USDM one and the JDM one will not have the correct setup for it.
If by chance you'll be getting rid of that JDM TB and cable mount cheap... PM me.
Whats the story with the 550s? What other mods do you have that support them?
I don't have any problems with throttle responce really. Probably could be improved by a JDM TB but for stock linkage its fine. Sounds like something is wrong on your car.
by the name of the picture... I believe its a 58 trim. :)
I'm contemplating upgrading mine to a smaller trim like you also. So let us know how she runs. :)
Has anyone tried hard annodizing these parts? I remember being huge into paintball where everything was annodized... that one comapny used type 3 hard anno and it seemed nearly indestructable to scratching and abrasion. I don't know about what metals can be annodized if any other then aluminum...
15 bucks... I could probably make a set myself from a hardware store for like 5 bucks, lol.
I remember reading somewhere that some kinds of bolts can react with aluminum and actually start to erode the Al. Someone has a site that talks about exactly what they used, I can't for the life of me...
+1 for the PWR... I have one and the thing is just massive but still manages to fit into stock placement with all the stock mounting still there for A/C fans and what not. Excelent radiator in my book.
It was a thought from the good dr that it might be possible to use toyota truck LSD ring and pinion gears. Well... this thread will explain it best. I know another member already pointed you here but I'll link you directly.

I'm pretty sure you just bring it back to stock specs. Its the lowering itself that will make the alignment off. Whatever shop you take it to should have the specs when they do the alignment.
