Battery is brand new. Alternator is within spec and charging within spec. Switched out my igniter with a good one and same problem still. Next I'll swap coils with known good coils to see if that fixes it. Might as well buy new plugs as they're cheap and I'm getting ready to change my oil...
Look in the engine bay. You'll find a diagnostic box, underneath the cap you'll see which pins go where. You need to jump t1 and e1 then turn the ignition key on and count the flashes.
It'll be like this.
-.-.-.-.- -.-
- being flashes and . being .5 second pauses, that would read 52.
Or...
I'll have to borrow a set from a friend and let you know.
If this isn't the problem, what else could it be? Should I open the gap back up? Could it hurt anything if I leave it at .025?
My post wasn't made to say ford is a bad choice. I was giving my opinion. I've seen/been in many SBF with bolt ons and wasn't impressed with the money spent vs hp/tq gained. I realize your main intent was to get ford swap options but you seem heavily swayed to the 302. Have you weighed all the...

It seems you made up your mind before even making the post...

This should help. Check to see if your coils are still grounded by the ground to the head or the plug for the coils. Crank it for a bit then pull a plug and see if it's wet or not.
If the plug is not wet turn the key on and...
Okay so here goes.
New 7mgte crate engine, new spark plugs bcrp6es gapped @ .025, new ngk wires and properly timed @ 10 degrees with t1/e1 jumped.
Here's the weird part, I've got a very very common misfire at idle(650 rpms). I've grounded my igniter per the screw inside it to a body...
