I do believe the PCV needs vacuum to operate properly..
Pull your dipstick with the engine running and cover the hole, do you feel any pressure pushing against your finger? If you can't tell, cover it with a piece of paper and see if the paper moves. Sounds like the pressure in the crankcase...
Just being curious, how do you know it's rich unless you have a wideband?
The point to lex afm and 550cc injectors is that they don't need tuning. Both are 25% bigger than their counter parts.
Keep your fuel pressure set to stock, 33-40 psi with no vacuum. As for your afm screw location, hook...
Not to mention it also helps keep the 6th cylinder(further one back) cooler. Some people just don't know..
Enjoy your detonation at part throttle light load conditions.
Fuel pressure is anywhere from 33-40 for a 7mgte and a faulty AFM would of caused a check engine light.
Clogged fuel filter would of also caused abnormal fuel pressure.
On a side note, glad you figured it out mcammarn, told you to check that intercooler piping. :P
Awesome thanks.
If mine turns out to be in the head, I'll just pull the engine and build it while it's out. It'll be sad to watch the car sit there but wouldn't be the first time.
What's your fuel pressure? To make sure you don't have a clogged line or something..
I know when my afm went bad, I couldn't touch the gas at all or it would bog, but this would throw a code.
Do you have a coupling that came off? Is the throttle linkage still attached?
Yep, mine was a crate engine bought from toyota. I've added arp bolts here and there along with more new hardware and replaced all electronics. I've even made sure to take the extra steps such as warming the car before I drive it and letting the engine idle before shut down.
I'm very curious to...
