He was over 700 with an older style turbo, GT42 I believe. (753 rwhp/589 rwtq @ 30 psi on stock internals)
He was also running a AEM EMS standalone.
I'm using OE headgasket torqued to 75 ft lbs with my mods.
Not to go OT but my car's engine only has about 4000 miles on a brand new long block. Last time I had a vacuum gauge to check for intake leaks, it read -22 inHG on my car and my greddy profec b spec 2 reads -9.9 at idle. I believe that's as far into vacuum as the gauge will read cause it only...
What is your goal for running the bigger valve? With these being FI engines, you don't need to open up the valves to make power. The same goes for the swirl effect on the combustion chamber gases to help them escape, the pressurized air forces any unspent gases out.
Sorry but that's why I find these types of threads absolute bullshit to even respond to. You've left so many variables out and you're even talking of further messing with the setup.
Instead of wondering what your setup will put out in horsepower figures and you don't feel like paying for a...
been saying this is a boost leak.. even at 13 psi, my 57 trim pulls its ass off. my 57 doesn't pull that good when I have it on my low setting, which is everything zerod out.
Wouldn't be able to reply with a decent guess without knowing the fuel and the a/r of the ebay turbo. Which GT35R is it? Is it the GT3576R or the GT3582R?
There's too much information missing to give a decent guess.
Your idle stays at 2k for cold starts? I know every car is different but mine will fire up then go to around 1.5k and quickly work its way back down to 800, after about 30 seconds or so it's idling around 650.
When you say it won't rev past 5k, what are you encountering? Does it spit? Bog...
Well, tubular is a better design that keeps the individual cylinder exhaust pulses away from each other until they reach the collector(turbo flange). The log style manifold makes all of the exhaust flow into each other causing heavy turbulence which slows down the exhaust velocity.
Faster spool...
If you wanted the engine to have a little more top end pull, send your 60-1 to albert for a rebuild and tell him to clip the hell out of it. You'll receive more lag but with more lag comes more top end pull.
