Will you be building a crank girdle for the mains as well? Use billet mains and extended main studs that tie into the girdle to keep the 7m crank from being a wet noodle at the RPMs this thing might see.
Also, you can do like IJ did and use an electric water pump with the 7mge water pump to...
No way is this turbo too big for the 7m. I'd say there's a problem with your setup or the turbo. Is your waste gate installed properly? It sounds like the waste gate was stuck open for the first few pulls til it let go at the third pull. The late boost of 5500 makes me think it's still being...
The flanges being warped are because they're not supported during welding and the gasket is normally thick enough to seal.
It does rub against the subframe.
For 400whp and a nice snappy response, I'd go with something fairly small. gt30 or bws266 with a .6x ar.
If you want room to go after and don't mind a touch of lag, bw s366 or pt62 or gt3582r.
I honestly would trust IJ probably more than 95% on this site as far as this information goes. He's cut most of the M engine pieces in half for research purposes.
Spelling error yet it's a whole sentence.. "Performance built 4.0 while stock is 3.0"
It's someone who just got busted and is trying to fight his way out a wet paper bag.
well, I doubt a 4.0 is possible to do without it being massively unreliable. the piston speeds are already close to the danger limit at stock stroke/rpm.
Yes, you can run it. You'll need adjustable cam gears to get it to idle like stock since the stock ECU has no adjustments for such mod. Once you go standalone though, you can make 280 cams idle almost like stock.
There is no idle screw. There's a reason these cars have something called "Idle speed control valve"
The reason it messes with your TPS and throws a code is your causing the IDL contact to stay open while your foot isn't on the gas.
There is no screw on top of the throttle body, they're...
This. The fuel pump changes from 9v to 12v near this RPM. This causes a nice hiccup in the fuel system for a blip of a second and makes it a nightmare to tune.
