    vsv. how to remove?

:biglaugh: VSV=Very Slow Vehicle. They are usually in front of the car you are driving. By-'Passing' it is fine, except in unsafe conditions. Removing it is sometimes done, but usually by very upset drivers, and is not recommended (especially with witnesses around). :biglaugh:

    Tranny speed sensor

I don't believe the ABS speed sensors will effect transmission shifting. There is a speed sensor behind the speedometer, too. My Mitchell-On-Demand program says the one on the trans is for ABS.

Where to buy RTV brake quiet or Permatex?

Permatex is a brand name, like Jell-O. You just need RTV. GE makes some, 3M, etc. Comes in a tube like toothpaste.

    Car Stuttering (7MGE)

It seems that you are very intent on replacing that AFM. That is an expensive part, so better to do the ignition stuff first. It probably needs the stuff anyway. I manage a smog shop up here in the Mojave Desert, and I see way more problems with wires, plugs, cap and rotor, O2 sensors and cat...

    Strange noise from top end.

Check the front dampener. I've seen loose ones make a sound as you descirbe. Toyota dampeners are a 'snug' fit, but not overly tight on the crank, like chevys and fords and some other imports. During my Toyota years (5), I could easily remove it after the bolt was out, with 2 big pry bars. I...

how much is my car worth?

Stock Supras don't bring more $, as they are not collector cars. Best to sell to a person that is 'looking' for a Supra. Those mods on yours will help it sell, and for more $. PS. I've had several years experience selling cars, and I also keep an eye out for Supras around here. I'd say it...

    Car Stuttering (7MGE)

Possibly the spark plug wires breaking down and not firing the plugs properly.

    afm question

I believe placing it over the exhaust manifold would allow too much heat on the AFM, thus creating the possibilty of damaging a very expensive part.

    cam cover oil vent tube?

NO ! :nono: The big allen screws only hold down the #3 cover. In fact, you could leave the center cover off (tho not recommended), as its only there to keep crap and water out of the spark plug hole area. The rubber tube in question is only there to allow combustion gas blowby (from the...

    broken transmission?

Sounds like your clutch is not disengaging fully, so there is still input coming in, and the syncros can't do their job.

HELP -- replaced fan clutch now idle revs 1200-2000

You may have knocked an electrical connector off, or damaged a wire. Look very closely at all the connectors, especially around the AFM, and the thermostat housing.

    valve seats maybe?

Those little 'helmets' are the valve guide seals. Use them if you are doing a valve job. Save them if not, as you may need them later. A set cost about $35. Dealer sells them separately for about $2.50 each.

is this thing for real,or B.S.?!!

I'll take 10 for my n/a motor, cause I can fit them all inside the intake tubing. More is better, right?? With that many, well, let's see, I should be getting about 85 mpg. Hell...I'll take 15 today !!!

    Automatic transmission oil cooler

I have an 89 n/a, so I put a Carquest (made by Hayden) 12x5" out in front of radiator about 6" with some metal brackets for mounts. I did not want to put it on the radiator because it would transfer too much heat. If mine was turbo, I'd definately put it after the intercooler, somewhere, as...

    heater fan and motor

Turbo/na will interchange=same. Years might not interchange, as some motors on some toyotas were updated (made better) as time went on. I remember installing some under recall/warranty, but can't remember if any were on supras. You can call the dealer and get the part# for your car, then...
