I don't mind all of your tech threads. You get good advice from them, and these threads will benefit someone else when they run into the same issue. That's if they bother searching first.

Supra 7M and 1jz VS SRT4 and Cobalt SS/SC with NOS and LS1 Camaro New Race added

That's because we have alot of bench racers here. People love to talk about how fast their cars should be instead of getting cold hard facts. They say they don't want to beat on their cars at the track, but they'll street race their ass off like there's no tomorrow.

Have you done anything different since then, or only fixed the issues you were having? Your car seems to be running a helluva lot stronger.

    grinding valve shims...

2 per package for $6.95. Damn that's damn good deal. If you need two shims that are different sizes, you could probably use one size that would still be within spec when adjusting your valve lash.

Oh no... another who will win thread. :icon_roll Oh wait... the races has already happened. Good job. Man, you need to get back to the dragstrip and post new numbers. Do you have drag radials on the car? BTW, it seems like you had more trouble taking down the SRT4 than the CobaltSS, but...

    grinding valve shims...

Which is probably alot less than what the machinist is going to charge you for setting up and grinding 14 shims. Or you can do an even trade with suprarx7nut, or myself and pay for just shipping.

    grinding valve shims...

Yeah, I'm down for an even trade as well. Keep in mind that Texas shims are better than Colorado shims because our state is just better overall. BTW, for the price that machinist is probably going to charge you couldn't you just buy some new ones?

I got mine from Champion Toyota, they're a vendor on SF. I believe I paid around $5.50/ea when I bought them last year.

Why do most of the MKIII owners not buy hood struts?

I just got my hood & hatch struts in today from rockauto.com. I went out and installed the hood struts immediately. It didn't take long at all. You guys aren't going to believe this, but suddenly my hood pops up when I pull the hood latch release from inside the cab. I no longer have to pry...

TSRM is a big fan of RTV. They refer to it as seal packing. But you can use the equivalent... RTV. Lay it down on those two spots on both cams. Oops, wrong two spots. The guys were talking about these spots.

looking to buy act, spec or comp clutches. any comments on any of them?

I have an ACT 6 puck sprung disc with stock PP. I don't like the chatter. I don't like how you have to baby it just to try to get smooth engagement out of it. Some people say you'll get used to it, and learn how to let it out smoothly in time. I wish I would have went full face. I member...
