Uhh O! What happened? Flywheel? clutch? tranny?

This happened to me a few weeks ago. Was hell to drive home with no clutch. After cleaning out the slave cylinder I still had the same problem. As I was bleeding out the system I watched the pedal fall to the floor :<. It turned out my master was leaking air in. I bought a rebuild kit for it...

BAW BAW, lamest street racing ticket ever

Well half throttle on the supra is still faster than most cars around. And the officer said I burned out, but I'm positive I just chirped the tires. My buddy may have squealed his a little. Yeah I was wondering about the clutch thing. Especially since I didn't go above the speed limit. I...

BAW BAW, lamest street racing ticket ever

I feel like such an idiot that I had to post this story :D I don't expect any sympathy, you play you pay. I just put a new spec stg 3 clutch in last week. I've been driving like a grandmother everywhere I go for the break in period. I was hanging out with some buddies of mine I hadn't seen in...

Need a prank deterrent - Help from EE's needed

As was mentioned earlier, if you don't want to have a constant electrical shock (that as mentioned could get dangerous even if low current) just make a circuit to charge up a small capacitor. Or hell, just leave a charged capacitor sitting somewhere where they'll get it. One out of a disposable...

    MKIII vs SRT-4

My dad drives a slightly modded SRT-4 (exhaust, hardpipes etc.) He admits my car feels alot faster than his. They have some power, but no traction :D They'll beat alot of cars, but not a properly modded supra.

How do others feel about your Supra?

The guy who tuned my car was amazed:"you only paid $1000 for this car and your making these numbers?" He told me to go own some corvettes. Everyone else:"why don't you get something newer" or "why are you spending so much time fixing this when you have a perfectly running escort" :<

    Rear Main Oil Seal

My Advance Auto Parts had the rear main seal and tranny gasket in stock, so I just picked them up there. Otherwise best place is probably from Jeff Watson. Replacing them while the transmission is out is a smart idea.

    Driftmotion intercooler installed

I had to make my own lips when I did my piping, not too hard with a hammer and anvil. They have worked fine so far.

    How to make a 13.9 second N/A

That's the only real suggestion besides nitrous that will lower your times significantly without a boatload of engine work.

Old school 5-nob apex s-afc question

Mine works great. The tuner was able to make a perfect a/f ratio across the board with it with just the 5 adjustment points. No need for a fancy SAFC2.

    anyone have this BOV?

One of these came on my supra, I took it right off. Way too loud for my tastes. BTW if anyone wants one attached to a hard upper intake pipe pm me :D

    Got my baseline dyno

I was commenting that 3" intake pipes are overkill, not a 3" exhaust. If he's only boosting 7psi on stock turbo than 3" intake is way too large/laggy to fill up. Especially when the exhaust can't breathe.

    Got my baseline dyno

Well if he has 3" intake pipes and stock exhaust, its defintely not going to breathe to its potential. The 3" is probably overkill for stock turbo/exhaust and may be hurting more than helping.

Power Steering just took a crap on me...

I spent a weekend pulling the rack and replacing all seals once on my old car. It still leaked and I just dealt with it. On my second car I added some "stop leak ATF" to the power steering resevoir to soften up the seals. It actually worked, hasn't leaked since.

Left turn clicks like a CV axle!!?

You don't have CV axles in the front, being that supras are rwd.

    a ? about boost...

Make sure at the very least to re-torque your stock head gasket before trying to run up the boost too much. You won't get much higher than 10-14psi before hitting fuel cut anyway. You can run right up to fuel cut on stock internals/fuel without any major problems.

    Turbo Options?

There are many companies that will upgrade your CT-26. I got a local shop to do mine, but MDC motorsports and some other companies around the boards will let you mail off your turbo for an upgrade.

    new turbo

You'll probably make more power at the same boost levels, but as bishop said you'd defintely be wasting the turbo.

    Gas Milage

I just got 26.5 mpg on my first highway trip after putting down 350rwhp. I just kept out of excessive boost, and boy am i proud. year: 1988 transmission: r154 ~rear end gear (other than stock): 3.93 mods (be detailed, turbo, inj, exhaust, etc.):upgraded ct-26, enough fuel for 16psi, 3" exhaust...
