Hey Rich, I thought we were on to something too. I appreciate your help as well as everyone else's. I think we will get somewhere with this thing sooner than later now that we are getting some help and will be pursueing a mkIII to go to Bob's place for tuning.

Hey Bob,
Does the tune response tuning page settings have any bearing on the idle characteristics what so ever? It only gives input on a from "idle tip in", right?
Are there any more user input settings that will help determine idle quality, or possibly cause it to deteriorate besides...
Hoping to see if some of the other Houston guys might want to get together and shoot the shinola. Maybe we can trade ideas with tuning and so forth.
Would be nice to put a face with a screen-name.

Are you reading those afr's with a wide band or the narrow band bouncy afr gauge?
If with a reputable wide band, 17.9 is way lean at cruise imho. Mine at cruise using the ecu and not the pro bounce from 14.5 to about 14.9, when I say bounce I mean they bounce but always in that range...
Talked to Rich, told me to change the load source from map to tps, seemed to work at part throttle cruise, not running extremely rich, but at idle we are looking for 14.7 sweeping lean off the scale again, and thats with +15 on the mainscale with 440's. This thing is killing me, just when I...
Well Chris, you and I are not alone in this tuning circle-jerk. Still haven't plugged mine in since I have talk to you. Change stuff in the pro and it still runs way to rich, all hell, you know the story. I'll be waiting in the wings for some solutions.
Call ya later,

I am running the 4.65 version and am wondering if my crazy idle problems have to do with the PT page settings (part throttle).
It idles fine and will run pretty good for a while then the idle goes haywire--sweeping 14.x to 18.x back and forth.
Running out of things to try, thought maybe...
Thanks for the prompt response!!!!!!
Fuel pressure is 32 lbs with vacuum line on and 42 lbs with it off.
My afr's bounce around from 14.4 to 18.1 at idle after good and warmed up.
My aux 1 voltage stays around 0.00 most of the time from what I can tell from my log.
Wayne
O.K.
I think I am finally starting to understand.
I appreciate you clearing this up for me.
I will take another stab at it tomorrow and watch the aux 1 voltage.
Should try to keep it at close to 2.5 in closed loop. right?
Now I am looking at a log that I made;
At cruise- around...
I read the page Doc was referring to then went outside to the garage and paged through the sensor page to see if there was a Vf value to moniter there and didn't see one.
You will be getting mail.
Wayne
Are you saying that we need to manipulate the pro's settings while trying to moniter what Vf is doing.
If so, would we use the oxygen feedback mode with afm unplugged?
Moniter it at the diag port, correct?
