Since when does a Supra own drag/top-end? I have yet to hear of a Supra pulling 1.2 second 60 foot times. F-bodies do it all the time with slicks and a mostly stock suspension setup (meaning it's still a solid axle setup with lower control arms, a torque arm and coil springs.). I would like...
the "265" part of the tire size is the section width, not the actual width of the tire. One tire might be 225 andother 255 and be about the same actual width, just depends on the tire.
I would run maybe 9" wheels up front with a 25mm ish offset and 255 tires mounted on them and maybe a 10.5"...
Good luck getting those eccentric bolts unseized. I dealt with those on my Supra plenty. I stand behind cutting or blowing them out with a torch. Once you get the impact pouding on the bolt you'll quickly realize what an absorber that rubber bushing is.
I went with teh RK poly bushings...
Yes, the supra is very well balanced (sarcasm). 51/49 front and rear ratio? Please, explain it's need to push through every corner then. And about the 1300hp Supra example. You do not know what you are talking about. A 3spd automatic with a decent stall and that much power will bring a...
What causes the 7M's headgasket issues? Cast iron block vs a cast aluminum head, they expand at different rates. The length of the head plays a roll. It is also a turbocharged engine that tends to take more heat than most N/A vehicles which emphasizes the different metals and expansion rates...
You pressurized the accordian hose? You are probably leaking lots of pressure through the PCV system. If you are going to pressurize the accordian hose you are best to block off all of the ports on it.
I was going to go with the bat-wing corvette oil pan but it will not clear the subframe. And it's not a small amount, i'd have to get about 3 more inches of clearance to use it. I do have the pan and may not sell it, so if I ever feel adventurous again I can make my own subframe thats lighter...
The rebuild will be stock. Not sure on the turbos at this time. Yeah, if you could talk to your roomate about getting the transmission out of that car that would be great. I am looking for a flywheel and clutch also if his are good. Shit actually there is a few things i'd like to snag off of...
Well, dropped my girl's block and heads off at TPiS for machining and picked up my LS6 shortblock today. Below are a couple pics. Just a couple more items and I will have the complete engine. BTW if anyone knows of someone parting out a 98+ f-body or knows of any LS1 Tremec T56 for sale, talk...
I have yet to run an undercover on either of my Supras. I do plan on putting one on my current one soon here. I talked to Mike Donohue on this subject before. As I remember he mentioned he has owned many MKIII Supras and rarely if at all used an undercover and had no over heating issues, and...
I ended up getting some Manley valve springs and titanium retainers so I can handle the cam I am putting on. Took a pic also.
My LS6 shortblock should be coming to my house Monday or Tuesday. I will take some more pictures of it. Still will be a few weeks till I put the heads on though.
I do not know for sure but I beleive SCCA rules state that for a rear mounted battery you must have a visible and accessible kill switch directly switched with the battery. I can not see it hurting anything, I mean accessories would have the memory reset such as the clock.
I beleive he is wondering what the general rules for racing organizations are relating to kill switches. I don't think he is installing the switches as an anti-theft measure.
I would suggest reading what the SCCA says about the kill switches.
