    Head removal with ARP Studs

I took all the studs out when I did my head work. One of my buddies had his engine rebuilt in a shop before though and they put the studs in upside down....so he had to do some...err....modifications....to the firewall to get the head out without pulling the engine. He was not a happy camper.

PacNW Supra Nationals in B.C. Every Year?

I agree as well. Making it an annual event at a similar time every year (2nd weekend in July maybe every year?) would be a huge encouragement to numbers. Annual events are much easier to grow just simply for the fact that if someone finds out about it but has missed it, it's already in the...

    running good

We've got solid lifters with shim adjustment in our valvetrain, so you could check your clearances and make sure you're running within spec. Make sure it's actually the valvetrain that's making the noise before you do that though. Take a stethescope and listen to the top end a bit, then listen...

    XTD Clutch scam!

It continues to amaze me how many people there are in this world that just don't get it. Keep us updated as to any further action on Jimmy's side and hopefully this will result in one less scammer making money off innocent people.

    Confused :( Please help.

There are vacuum lines running to the cruise control, did those get plugged/rerouted properly?

    Waste gate or Actuator failure?

I replaced mine with a piece of silicone line. Don't have to worry about it burning up ever again ;)

    Sway arm problem...

I've got some sort of pop in my steering somewhere but I haven't been able to find it. It doesn't always do it if I crank the wheel from side to side, so it's been hard to track down. Let me know if you do figure it out cause I'd really like to check and see if mine is the same issue.

    Waste gate or Actuator failure?

To make sure your waste gate is opening properly you can just attach an air compressor on to the line going down to the wastegate and slowly build up the pressure to see when it starts to open vs. fully opened. I don't know the exact numbers for the stock wastegate spring unfortunately, but I'm...

    Coolant Issue?

Check under your oil cap and in your PCV running over the valve covers to see if you've got milky gunk buildup. Let the car sit for a few hours and crack the drain plug, see if you get water/coolant out first before oil. This will let you know if you're getting coolant mixing with your oil at...

What should be my next baby...

USDM MKIV's are 320, JDM's are 280. JDM's have smaller turbos and smaller injectors. The two cars will be completely different to drive. RWD vs AWD responds very differently with "spirited driving". I'd honestly say to try getting a test drive in each, see what suits your driving style...

    Clicking Noise

Does it go away once the engine is warm? Could be piston slap.

    Starting build soon

Also get the head hardness tested. The head on the 7M has a tendancy to anneal (soften) if subjected to high heat (ie. blown head gasket) at any point of it's life. With the annealing you'll get things happening like exhaust studs stripping out of the head (which could just be due to a long...

    so the famous torque question

The head torque depends on a bunch of things. Are you using stock head bolts, arp bolts, or arp studs? Are you using the ARP lubricant or oil when installing them?

    Overheating 7MGTE! (Don't think BHG?)

If you're going to be draining the oil, just crack the drain plug and catch some of the fluid in a small clear container first. Make sure it's been sitting for at least a couple hours before doing this. If you've got coolant getting in to the oil at all, you'll see it come out of the drain...

    Bubbles on disptick

^ Exactly what I was looking for =P. With the :runaway: and everything! I know I'm losing a bit of coolant, but I know where it's going (NOT through oil or combustion chamber ;)), so I think I'm safe :)

    Bubbles on disptick

Ok, so 90% likely it's just the turbo drain. That's all I was wondering =P. 10% that we're underestimating the sneakines of the oil...hmmmm.......;)
