Is it physically possible to swap a PPS rack onto a pre-89 sub-frame? I have access to the rack harness and computer, and would like to swap them into my 1987, as they are in excellent condition. And my current rack is in need of a rebuild. So does the PPS rack fit or will the regulator solenoid...
No.

Toyota has chosen to turn down the awesomeness and turn up the beige.
Lol, yeah it was an expensive lesson. I'd ran for years without one. Never bit me. But shortly after I spent some money on those components Murphy decided he was over due for a visit. You live you learn.
Thats what I thought, new fan shroud, fan, fan clutch. then my fan self destructed, and took out my hood, radiator and fan shroud. Not sure what the exact point of failure was but I suspect a rock from the road, As I did not purchase a undercover with all those other things.
Yeah, it's generally considered a bad idea. Without the fan shroud the air will circulate around the fan rather than be pulled through the radiator. If you are moving at highway speeds you won't notice a huge difference, as the forward motion for your car can push enough air through the...
Nope don't have any pictures for N/A, But I was browsing your build thread and noticed your pictures. Are your injectors Yellow or Green?
The post-89 7MGE came with high impedance injectors so had no need for the resistor pack, and as such wasn't incorporated into the harness. You need the...
This website comes in really handy for identfying these sort of things.

This car is nothing more than a hobby for me, and I find enjoyment from being elbow deep in the cars wiring schematics. It's a simple thing for me to do, so if the functionality is there I'd like to do it.
Thanks for the reply, I was hoping it did. According to the TSRM (87 & 95)the signals are the same so I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work I'll just switch it back to the MKIII A/C amp. It should be an interesting experiment.
It's now summer and I'm in the process of wiring up my A/C and I have a question. With the 7M the A/C amplifier had the responsibility to activate the A/C relay. On the 2JZ the ECU has that responsibility. I've been thinking, for this swap, migrating the wire over to the ECU. So my question is...
It's to be expected from a 1G, I'm sure he knew that and was just having a lot of fun. Still his 2 liters of I6 fury did better than I thought it would.
No problem DS31
I does sound like the engine has been changed or has been rebuilt in the past using the new plugs. As far as Champion goes I'm honestly surprised. Their website has a page that allows you to look up parts. I use it to verify that parts are available before I go to the dealer to...
What year is your car?
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291410/catalog.aspx?F=1105&P=2
According to the EPC, Only the 86.5 to 87 used the gasket (90430-32002) and plug (90341-32070)
After which Toyota moved on to just the plug (96411-43000) for 88 to 92.
If you still want the plug...
Well, how about this?
Don't think of it as a car, just think of it as a ludicrously expensive cigarette lighter.
As for something I'd like, I'd say this would fit the bill nicley.

Umm....well how much is your time and piece of mind worth? Even the OEM Toyota one lists for $17. I don't like redoing jobs, especially the pain in the ass jobs, so to me the price is worth it.
Aww, your giving up to easy.:p
Kind of like this guy's 1UZ?
