Is it physically possible to swap a PPS rack onto a pre-89 sub-frame? I have access to the rack harness and computer, and would like to swap them into my 1987, as they are in excellent condition. And my current rack is in need of a rebuild. So does the PPS rack fit or will the regulator solenoid get in the way.

Can a PPS rack be used if you do not hook up the PPS? Like if I put a PPS rack in a non-PPS car is what I meant

Thanks Ian, I had a feeling you would be the one to reply.

If you have the rack and can get a hold of the computer it's a really easy thing to hookup. 5 wires, a power, a ground, the two wires that go to the solenoid, and the speed signal.

^ yea but installing it to factory oem specs means splitting the loom unless you decide to just put it in its own.

I think I would go for the mustang II front end and get rid of the PS pump if my rack went out.
