I've spoken my peace on JDM engines in this thread and others. The reasoning behind why rebuilding your own engine vs. buying an engine with unknown history is more cost effective in the long run has been satisfied on this thread. What more needs to be said on this topic?
I got an engine...
You'll have to crawl under the car as the bottom piece is only 3 ft long at the most, so yeah, it may be hard to see the place to disconnect it from the top.
Don't bash the metro's guys, I've got one too ;). There are metros running around here that will flat out smoke the majority of the supra's on here, mine included. Check this site out and you'll know what I mean: www.teamswift.net
Before the bashing starts, think of the average 1/4 mile all...
Every seen one of those HKS long or short runner manifolds for them on ebay? Once you get past the steep ass price it's just begging for a T3/T4 turbo ;).
Not many people have done the swap, so I'd say most are leery about getting their hands dirty by doing it. There aren't many aftermarkey parts that can be had for this engine is there?
Most of the symptoms you are describing are leading me to think you have a BHG :(. Search up on it is all I can say, it's been beaten into the ground...
Take ou the cluster and pull the cable out from the inside cabin (don't forget to disconnect the upper part from the lower). The upper part is the fucked piece right?
