Base model Cutless goes for quite a lot because of it's age. It also wasn't the top-of-the-line car like the Supra was. Like I said, give it another 20 years...
He also has to install the flanges wth new gaskets, which requires cleaning the old gasket material off. You're half assing it if you don't remove the turbo and making more work for yourself.
Well, the 4 beam ones aren't HID (and don't really need to be as they use H9 bulbs). The hella HID version of the lights are about $500 A PIECE, so yeah, not cheap by any stretch of the imagination.
I've been working on a setup with 4 hella headlight modules, could probably do it for $500 (without bezels), but it's not HID. The bezels are the hard part...
Doing a drop in HID projector retrofit would probably cost around $500 shipped.
Not to mention putting the fitting on for soft lines. REMOVE THE TURBO, it's the only correct way to do it without fucking shit up. Not to mention the gaskets from the turbo to the manifold and the turbo to the elbow are reusable...
If it's a single plate, than it's going to be the factory setup...which has a lot of parts and if incorrectly installed will cause failure.
I don't have enough details, but it could be assembled wrong (and/or missing parts), pilot bearing is bad, or tranny is bad.
Supercharger is more expensive as the parts aren't readily available. Same issues as turboing, but only worse dollar for dollar. Honestly, the OP is "scared" of boost thinking that it causes issues, when it doesn't. Running too much boost on a tired ass engine without any tuning causes...
