    Buy or Rent Spring Compressor?

Ive rented them from Autozone before, nothing wrong with them. You probably wont even have to compress them a great deal.

http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/part.aspx?S=11711 Theres the part numbers in case your parts guy doesnt know wtf you are talking about. 11071 are the #1 main bearing (they are slightly wider) and 11701 are for caps 2-7. Last digit represents the bearing size.

    water pump assembly

No, I think you misunderstood. The NA water pump will work on your GTE, but the NA fan and NA fan clutch will not (they will fit, but the GTE has a beefier fan and clutch).

    water pump assembly

The fan and fan clutch are different, but the water pump is identical.

    How hot is considered overheating?

Fan clutch is an almost brand new OEM unit, it is working 100%, can hear it pulling a large amount of air. Not to mention that this thing gets hot on the highway. The AC is working well steven when I charged it the high side was staying below 250. The 2 electric radiator fans turn on when high...

one set of main bearings wider than others? (7mgte)

The front bearing should not even fit into any of the other positions as the locating tang is on the opposite side.

    How hot is considered overheating?

Couldnt find anything on this cooling criteria, would be nice to know what the requirements are. Not sure where exactly the readings can be taken from. Theres a whole lot of fuel rail/intake manifold/wiring on that side of the head that gets in the way. I did however temp it today at 237 at...

    was this worth it?....

Id almost like to say you can't put a price on good machine work. If you are happy with the end result it is worth paying a high amount of money. Good machine work is hard to come by.

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Parallel flow condensers are around 25% more efficient at releasing heat than a serpentine condenser of the same size. The ACI PF condenser is very slightly smaller but makes up for it in efficiency. The PF condensers use micro channels which are much smaller than the channels in the serpentine...

    7MGTE fan clutch

Not so much an argument. I understand that things can be different in theory and in practice, but in the end I would still like to know the reason why.

    7MGTE fan clutch

What is wrong with this statement? "Cooling air becomes heated as it passes through the radiator. It enters the radiator at ambient temperature and exits the radiator at some increased temperature. It is the difference between the average core, or coolant temperature and the average of these two...

    Crashed The MK3 Today

Sucks to hear. If it makes you feel any better, I was involved in a similar collision, slightly worse actually, a couple years ago, and repair numbers totaled over 3500, and it was covered by the other persons insurance completely and my car was not totalled. I dont know if it makes a...

    Rear Coolant Hardpipe Leak?

Or option number 2 snap off the small metal hardline for the throttle body/iscv and weld up the remaining hole on the new one. This pipe is the only thing I am aware of that prevents you from being able to slide it out with the head on. If you are in a climate where it gets below freezing...

    4 Gauge for batt relocation?

More strands does not = more current flow. The cross sectional area is what counts, meaning if you have a solid core wire it will flow the same amount of current as a stranded wire as long as they have the same cross sectional area, regardless of the number of strands. The stranded is just to...

My *sort of* build thread. (PIC WHORE)

Decided to tackle the heater core before it gets cold out :). Dash pulled, got some new foam on the ducts, soldered up the heater core pipes instead of using the O rings.

    New Driftmotion Intercooler Kit

In my case I used the slotted brackets that were provided in the kit to mount the oil cooler off the horn mounting bolts. Keep in mind you will have to replace the oil line as the stock ones have hardline most of the way, which wont work if you try to move the cooler. A few feet of 3/8 oil line...
