For a stock rebuild, that piston set w/rings should do fine. If you're worried I would find some Hastings rings if you can get them. I've had great results with their rings on a few different motors.
ACL bearings work fine although they don't make the "race" bearings for us and I wish they did!
Just be careful with the degreaser. Before I put my JDM motor in I used simple green and scrubbed all the crap off and sprayed with a pressure washer. It looked VERY nice, all bright white again. But the white started yellowing after about a week and now every bit of the white the degreaser...
I really think it would work fine.. Draw-through carb. setups seemed to work perfect with fuel hitting the turbo blades. Like said the supercooling effect would help a lot too.
