Need a picture - driver door wiring

Like the title says - I forgot to bring my laptop with all of my disassembly pictures and I'm having a hell of a time figuring out how to run the wiring through my doors. If anybody has a picture of a door sans door panel, please post. Thanks, adam

    brake upgrade...?

The mk4 rear rotor requires a centering ring- the mk3 hub od is 60.1 mm and the rotor bore id is 62.1 mm. E-brake works perfectly.

    brake upgrade...?

Why mess around with the knightpager kit for the rear when adapting the mk4 rear brakes will cost you the price of the calipers and rotors, and another $100 for machining. If you have access to a machine shop, even better - the parts are extremely easy to make. To answer your original...

What chemical to use to remove smoke stains (metal parts)

steam cleaning (in solution for a couple days) should take off the majority of the crap. You will waste your time with mineral spirits/varsol/etc - it requires a lot of work to even get the oily residue free. Ultrasonic cleaning (if you have access) with a detergent solution (eg. alconox)...

Update: 7/12/09- White car stripped for paint

Just polished....and not the best job at that - I just wanted to smooth them out and clean them up. Now that I think about it, one of the arms was next-to-new (came off my parts car with the toyota sticker still attached) The new hardware makes a big difference when putting the subframe...

My restoration project - Rusty 89

As of last night, the fuel tank is in. No pictures though, because really, a fuel tank isn't all that exciting. The fuel tank goes in so nicely when it is bone dry and you're not fighting against rusted bolts/fittings/straps to do the tank back up. I must say though, I regretted my choice to...

    q45 tuning and auto problems

you are correct on that point, but not regarding the plunger. With no coolant lines hooked up or the lines hooked up and a cold engine, the plunger is fully extended, keeping the throttle plate open. With the plunger in place and the coolant lines unhooked, it is the plunger that acts as the...

My restoration project - Rusty 89

nope, the engine and transmission are still hibernating. The re-appearance of winter is really cramping my style right now (2 f'ing feet of snow int he last 3 days!) - when it warms up, I'll be able to make some progress. All that has really happened since the last pictures I posted is the...

My restoration project - Rusty 89

On all of the suspension components I used two coats of the rust preventative paint, followed by two coats of chassis coat black. (all por-15) While I did completely sandblast each part before painting, I went with the rust preventative paint base layers as added protection. The paint actually...

Update: 7/12/09- White car stripped for paint

I recommend a good sandblasting for those rear knuckles - and be prepared to spend some time on them...it takes a long, long time to get them clean... here is some inspiration: My rear end went from this: to this: I finally rebuilt and installed my mk4 rear brakes on my car - size-wise they...
