i had one, but fixed it. i have 2.5" intercooler piping now. i guess my car is just finicky. it will hit fuel cut when shifting into 2nd at high rpm, and sometimes when going towards the higher range on the tach. it's very intermittent.
looks like everyone but me can go past 8psi without hitting fuel cut. :(
looks like the greddy profec is going in today to replace the $2 boost controller that came with the car. lol

do the top-botom intercoolers cool as good as the other ones? i was told that they aren't as effective as the other style ones. also, at the power level i'm looking for is an aftermarket cooler necessary? can the stock one be used for anything above 400hp? if so, i can just get a piping kit.
i'm shooting for no more than 500. i plan on using one of albert's turbos, lex afm, 560's, afcII, walbro 255, full 3" exhaust with a bic ddp, and a greddy profec b boost controller. right now i'm on the stock turbo, bic ddp, and running 10lbs.
that's what i figured. the older DM kit has the inlet and outlet on opposite sides. what do you think about this kit?

i finally solved my boost leak issue, so now i'm on to the next thing.
is there any advantage to havint the inlet and outlet on opposite sides on an intercooler? i've heard that there's better cooling with them on opposite sides, but i know that the piping is shorter the other way. on...
well, i fixed the leak and got it all back together. the car is still doing the same exact thing. it's fine at half throttle, and as long as you keep it under 5psi. as soon as it goes past 5psi, the car feels like it's hitting a brick wall.

what are the odds of this?..... i pressure tested the spare intercooler, and it has a leak in the same spot as the one on the car. it's not as bad, but still a leak. is this common on stock ic's? the leaks are at the bottom, drivers side facing the core support.

good news guys. i pressurized just the intercooler, and it definitely leaks. it's leaking right where i've been seeing the oil. luckily i have a spare to use until i order the dm kit. i'm sure there are other issues with the car, but am i correct in thinking that the leak will cause the code...
also, i swapped out the maf and air filter for another one i had. now the car idles right at 700, but it still hits a wall at 5-6 psi. i spotted a bit of oil on the lower right corner of the intercooler. i'm sure if i could pressurize it, that's where the leak might be.
ok guys. where do i find a 2 3/4 coupler to use as a boost leak tester? i want to make a cap to mount on the turbo so i can pressurize the system. none of the hardware stores have anything in that size. i need top find the problem so i can move on to the next issue. lol

i picked up a cusco rear strut bar for $50 today. then i broke one of the strut mount bolts while installing it. :(
