Buy NGK copper plugs..NGK 6282. They're $2 a piece and work wonderfully.
If you paid a lot for NGK plugs they're probably iriduim..which can't be gapped..
You should be able to find it online. I just torqued my head to 120 with oil and it was fine.. It was a bit scary having to put that much force on the wrench but it worked out OK.
You wont mess the gasket up removing any of the rivets so long as you keep all the layers in order. Like already stated, lay the HG on the block surface and if any of the rivets touch the deck, remove them.
That sucks..So the threads in the block are broken where the oil filter screws to? It could have been overtightened at some point.
A JZ swap is probably going to cost you more in the long run than finding a new block and putting it together. Not to mention you could have the same problems with...
A load leveler is something you might think about getting with your hoist... Wish I had one when I just took my motor out and put it back in...Huge PITA without one.
