STALX Supra - The Ultimate Time Attack MKIII

Looks like a fun car already, looking forward to what you have in store for it. That rear suspension pic - perhaps it's just the angle but it looks like the endlink for the swaybar ought to be flipped around so that it's on the outboard side of the swaybar and the inboard side of the tab on the...

    88 Blue Turbo restoration/upgrade story

Seals and valve adapters, which come in the conversion kit, and a new receiver/drier from what I recall. I might be able to help you with it on Sunday but I'm busy until then. You have some time before you really *need* A/C.

I think I have a spare of that gasket. I know I did at one point, but I may have already given it away. RockAuto has a gasket kit for $8.95. Advance has the same one for $9.49, in stock locally. Not sure if it has that particular gasket but worth checking out. The R134A retrofit kit Toyota...

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

Thanks Lance! I've decided to go with the S2 widebody fenders from the Shine group buy. I test fit the suspension and wheels over the weekend and the offsets on the Equips are a bit too low for the fitment I'm after. So the current plan is to run the 18"x10"s on the front and since the...

    1JZ Translated Manual

Sorry guys, I really need to get back around to this and finish it. I'm setting up the software now since I've reloaded my system since I worked on it last. I can't promise any timeline, but I do intend to continue working on it.

How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

Good work destrux! I had to laugh when I had the E46 M3 and saw that the OEM carrier bearing was only $3x.xx from BMW. Given the prices for other parts for that car it was rather amusing that it was so cheap compared to the Supra one.

    Carbon Fiber Inspection Covers---Really!?

How much weight can I save with these? J/K It sure beats buying stamped steel for twice the price from the dealer, if you can even still get them. Though I can't see any practical reason to replace existing ones if they're in good shape.

    88 Blue Turbo restoration/upgrade story

I doubt humidity has anything to do with it. How long ago was the timing belt done? Don't take it to Charles Maund whatever you do. Just take a look at their reviews. I'm not sure about Champion. Either way I'd say the dealer would be a waste of money for belts. Just about any 'ol shop should...

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

As you may remember, I opted to route my engine harness through my speedometer cable hole. I never did like cable driven speedometers, at least since electronic ones were around. I've been trying to figure a solution to an electronic speedometer for the Supra. I went to the junkyard yesterday...

Glad you made it. My first guess on the clicking would the speedometer cable. Where is the sound coming from?

    Got Screwed Over on eBay

I've disassembled my factory one completely and there is no bracing. Take off the headliner and seals and it looks just like the CF one, only steel.

Either Toyota, a salvage yard, or post a WTB in the classifieds. http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/catalog.aspx?F=6104&P=3 http://cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/catalog.aspx?F=6402&P=2 http://www.1sttoyotaparts.com or Champion Toyota in Houston seem to have the best prices.

The green ones are to mount the targa to the car. The front bolts straight in but the rear you will need to use the ears from the old targa. The blue ones are where the headliner snaps in. These are basically a direct replacement for just the bare sheet metal part to of the factory one.

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?47729-Data-Tag-VIN-Decoding-Information There should also be a red "LSD OIL ONLY" tag on the back of the diff if you have one. It might be covered in dirt. From what I recall, if it doesn't make popping when going around corners without the...

Jon's 1989 1JZ single turbo restoration and build: Stellllllaaaaa!

Finished the fuel cell bracket: You can't really tell by the pics but the front ears are straight and the rear ears are angled 45 degrees down. This is because the hatch area isn't level but the fuel tank is, so it sticks up a bit higher in the back. The ears are square tubing and have...

About 30 minutes depending on traffic: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=austin,+tx+to+leander,+tx&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wl It's one of the 'burbs. The fresh fluid tends to wash out the built up deposits, sometimes they are what is keeping things sealed. The differential should be OK.

    BigZavs T56 swap/Finishing my 1.5JZ project

Good to know. I have been pondering swapping a T56 as well at some point. Probably not for a while though, need to finish the rest of the car. I see the QuickTime bellhousing is listed for sale now...

    88 Blue Turbo restoration/upgrade story

I can give you a hand if I can find the time, I have the tools but don't have a very big garage and my Supra is already all over it. We can try to make room or do it in the driveway if the weather cooperates. I did some reading on auto transmissions, it's probably the front pump, which you can...
