Our wonderful baby girl has been keeping us busy, so there's not much to report as of late, just this:
18x9.5 +24
18x10 +18
I'm still trying to decide what to do with the rear bumper.
Thanks. It's been about 5 years in the making so far - I don't have all that much time either so it's spread pretty thin.
Time for the last update of 2009 :)
Progress has been slow... but still moving ever so slowly.
It's been too cold for primer/paint (aside from today which it's gorgeous...
Thanks!
I don't abhor it or anything, it's just tedious and messy. At least I'm done with the engine bay - all those contours made my fingers hurt. Out here on the flats at least I can use a block for most of it. Either way, progress is progress right? :D
Have you seen this diagram?

If you're not using the hydrofan that saves you some wiring there. Also you can just connect the body harness AC clutch wire by the battery to the 1JZ compressor clutch and skip the A/C wires in EA2. I ran mine through...
The problem is that you're not going to find a "name brand" IC pipe kit that isn't fit to a specific vehicle. You can either buy a kit like the one from CXracing that has a bunch of pipes, or you can buy individual mandrel bends. Search for "aluminum mandrel bend" on eBay and there are lots of...
Thanks for all the encouragement guys.
I worked all day on the car yesterday and got the rest of the main body primed along with the doors and fenders. While prepping the doors I noticed some stress cracks at the window regulator mounting points so I welded those up too. Both my regulators also...
Thanks
The mirrors should go nicely :)
The thought had crossed my mind, but I don't have the tools or know-how to get the curves right. I'm looking forward to seeing your rendition :)
Updates:
I wasn't impressed by the stud welder. I did a dozen or so studs and either they didn't...
:werd:
Dirt cheap body parts out of Ontario... more than likely Yashar. He's still around, changing his online identity every year or so to clear his name.
I've bought parts from both Yashar and Shine. If you want them to arrive in one piece, if you want customer support, if you want parts...
I hope this isn't a repost, but I can't search on BMW, M5 or E39 since they're too short.

Very nicely executed.
I sprayed another coat of primer today. Still getting used to the new gun.
I also bought a stud welder from Horror Freight to pull some dings with, but didn't have a 20A extension cord to try it out.
Pics!
Notice anything different? I shaved the existing wire harness hole and welded in a plate where the speedometer cable went through in order to use the MKIV harness grommet. I never liked how the harness went all the way across the back of the engine bay. This should be much cleaner this...
