I purchased a JDM engine from Sunrise Motors out of Canada and turned out
to be VERY good, however you never know untill you get into it. This one
was good but another may not be. I paid $750+ship. Their web site is:

Thats what I was thinking. Looks like there is a casting line on the right side
of the port in the pic. Clean up that bridge area between the ports you
might be able to see it better--
I have the one on the right. Purchased it from Norther tool & equip. Does a good job, however your need the biggest compressor possible. Using a 6HP
30gal tank Craftsman - it is taxed to the limit. When blasting outside it will
cover everything with sand in a 10 ft. radius. You can blast...
Seems most pistons come in Std. or .020 over my block is a very low milage
JDM unit and I still will probably bore. With 256k miles (wow) plan on a rebore.
Brian is very good indeed. I have talked with him however he is moving in
about 2 mos. to Clarkson Ga. shop and all and I don't know if I will be ready
with$$$ before he moves.
Whats the chance of getting you to look at what I have (engine) and give your opinion. I am only 2 miles from...
The Supra has it all Power, handling, looks and features way ahead of its
time. When I am at work and some of the younger guys start talking about
their ricers, (WXRs, Evos, Mazdas etc.) and how fast they are its funny how
quite they get after they ask what I drive - and I say its just a 87...
Its called Eagle Machine and their on Hwy 8 in Winder. I was refered to them
by Battle Ground Engineering in Smyrna. They use them for all the machine work. By the way my brother works for Bill Heard Chevrolet in Buford so I
know the area.
Very good info, it is appreciated. I have found a shop that does machine
work that is within reason. They do lots of work on 2jz and have done a
number of 7ms as well. I have a pile of new parts :suspension, brake, engine
body, etc. to go on this car. Will start a build thread soon. Cheers,
Searches did not yeild much on this. After inspecting the bores on my block
they look very good (a slight amt of cross hatch left) and no ridges marks etc. They all measure within 82.99 mm to 83.01 mm. Would you suggest just going back with stock size and light hone or go ahead with rebore...
The key code is on the lock cylinder on the passanger side. Toyota no longer
has records for the older cars on file (called toyota Nat. office and 3 dealers)
in any case get the key code from the cylinder and your parts guy at any Toyota dealer can make you a new master in 3-4 mins.
Reign, did that most post were old looking for most recent experience. Saw
where someone used 1-A auto another did not get ser. from them etc. Just
wanted all the info possible before buying - cheers
I intend to replace the carpet in my Maroon 87. In looking at the various
dealers on the web. Some list the interior as "Oxblood" some list it as "Maroon". Some list both colors for 87. I think mine is maroon - was there a darker Oxblood interior? Also who have you purchased carpet from...
The ones that are "oil less" (teflon rings) will not last as long as the ones
with iron piston rings and an oil sump. Look for CFM of 8 or more at 90
psi. I have the Craftsman 33 gallon 6HP upright model and a sandblaster
will make it run constantaly. A larger tank will allow longer work...
