In rebuilding the suspension (front and rear) and trying to get the splined rear axle shaft from the hub. The TRSM says once the outer nut has been removed use a plastic hammer to drive it out. So far no luck - anyone done this before? Is there something else holding it? Even tryed a puller on...
From what I have read here and other forums if you want to reduce rotational weight flywheel and driveshaft would be better ways to go,,
Some have said if you get everything "too" light it takes lots of reving to and clutch slipping to get going. After all my reads I decided to use...
There is a wire resistor behind the glovebox that tends to burn out leaving
your with no blower motor. It has 3 coils of wire (one for each speed) and is mounted in the air duct held in by 2 screws.
if you have no blower thats my guess. The part runs about $30 if I rember correctly---------...
Great idea, I had planed to put in a Apexi mechanical boost gauge using the method shown on the 92 Motec Supra page :

I am considering doing the same thing. I also would be intrested in hearing
from anyone who has used this kit for the rebuild and problems related. I can
say I would probably take LOTs of dig. pics on the teardown to make sure it
went back the way it was----
[theprodigy79]Another burgundy interior representing! These shots are a couple months old, so there have been a couple visible changes since them, such as a '89+ Climate Control and I put the trim pieces surrounding the door locks back on...
Love the Burgundy interior. My 87 will be...
Same here I removed mine just for easy access (had intended to replace it after fixing pwr. streeing) but never got around to putting it back on. That was over 18 mos ago never had ANY issues with temp cooling etc----
There is some really flawed logic here and a serious misunderstanding of
capitalism or the way business works. Just be glad "I" don't own Toyota
the TRSM (a low demand - compared to all the other cars they make) would be more than $60. Companys are in business to make money and they anwser...
Have the factory "87" TRSM and the owners manual as well as the Haynes
however, I will still print out a few pages from online to use while doing a specific project on the car to save wear and tear on the manual.
Nice bling factor and will never dry and crack like a stock one other than that I doubt any measurable diff. IF you have the $$ and everything else is
in order (vacuum hoses, water hoses, hard pipes etc) go for it.
Ditto on the beater -- got an 89 Corolla GTS for $900 the thing could get
40 MPG did not smoke and had a working CD player they are out there. Spare
yourself and the Supra unneccesary grief.
