Validation that some parts rep' just seems to work harder, and are more helpful than others. As suggested, I contacted another of the popular parts supplier on the other related forums, and they were able to source and supply the appropriate buckets. Hooray.
So, what should one do when sales rep' at Toyota indicates that none of the provided part numbers are currently available in the USA or overseas? Any other options other than custom made versions?
I don't think you're doing this because of charitable causes. So, basically, COST OF MATERIALS + LABOR COST = $??? X 1.45 = FINAL PRICE. 45% is usually on the low end of pricing to capture profit and all eventualities.
General rule of thumb:
Blue smoke - Rings
Puff of smoke at startup - Valve seals
Black smoke - Too much fuel
White smoke - (1) Coolant if smells sweet (glycol), (2) turbo seals (usually prevalent during decel' and idle)
These coilovers somewhat resembles my JIC-Magic SF2.
Only issue I've experienced with them is that the lower perch tightening ring causes tire / wheel interference with wide tires (315mm+), thus limiting the overall maximum width wheel / tire combination one can install. I do think the JIC's...
Josh,
I think a front splitter / undercover that extends outward approximately 5" or more and goes back to the front subframe or even further, will do more for frontal downforce than those canards will ever accomplish. You really need FEA analysis to determine optimum angles for the canards...
Just want to confirm that this tool will work on the 7M? The description indicates it's for 1990 Lex' and 1996 Toyo's and later. It'll be quite useful especially if your motor is on a stand.
From way back when in the days, I'm talking 90's", any smoking on decel usually an indicator of imminent turbo seal failure. That was the usually rule of thumb..
The genuine Bomex front bumper that I have did not require any modification to the front bumper support brace. So, I don't understand why the replica's would require any? Did yours come with extra stainless steel mounting hardware also?
Magnificently put together car, built up for a single purpose; racing. Just about what you can expect from a car that's personally financed with just about the "perfect" parts. Congrats guys....
Looks fantastic Rodel.
Each time I see your car, it always inspires and motivates me to get my black one rolling again. Mine has been on indefinite stay in my garage, poised on jack stands for the last ~6yrs.
