Cassette Tape in Engine Bay... wtf?

Japanese Toyota Exec #1: should we remove the rear middle seatbelt for the American market? Japanese Toyota Exec #2: absolutely!! they're all overweight anyways, so they won't ever need it.. plus, it saves us money. now, lets go drink some tea and discuss whether or not to allow them to have...

    Oil Pressure

I'm running M1 10w-40HM ATM, but I'm going to switch to either Rotella 5w-40 or M1 5w-40TDT.. and yeah, I'd say there's definitely a variance based on quite a few factors, but our numbers are pretty close to what I consider normal (for that weight).

    Over Fenders for Mk3

IIRC garage_fujimoto (car pictured) used 240z fender flares, and I like them a lot more than the Godfather or ABFlug.

    BOV selection.

Tial are the best IMO.. and to be clear, I was tempted to write that as fact.

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

ah, more or else what I figured then.. I imagine the VVTi kept it the same to save costs in some form or another.

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

that's what I get for my limited knowledge of the N/A motors.. I should stick to GTEs haha. is there a reason for the switch to the other side, Jeff? (there's always a reason, or so I hope)

    1jz or 2jz

indeed, the N/A VVTi 2J's rods are indeed weaker.. however, the 1J/2JZGTE VVTi motors use rods just as stout as those of the older non-VVTi GTE counterparts. regardless, I didn't clarify that I was referring to the GTE series.

    hatch leak hummmmm

Grim, I basically gave up on fixing it.. I think a new hatch is a much more viable alternative. for the time being, I removed a lot of the rust and used a malleable putty/epoxy to fill the holes. it's anyone's guess as to how long it's going to hold up.

    1jz or 2jz

for most folks, the 2J is the better deal.. in the supra, the difference shows in stop and go traffic. the 1J needs to be pushed more to get the car up to speed, and I have the 3.91 diff. I would imagine it would be worse with the 3.73. one thing that may be brought to the table here is the...

Turbonetics GTK 550 on 1JZ GTE?

that particular turbo seems to be the Turbonetics equivalent of a GT35/82R, but it's SBB vs. Garrett's DBB.. that being said, I imagine most of the performance will be the same aside from the difference in spool (especially after reading some of the info from other car community forums)...

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

negative, all JZ motors have the waterneck on the left side. the JZ powered SC/Soarer, Supra, GS/Aristo, IS/Altezza, JZX (Chaser, Mark II, Cresta, etc), and whatever other JZ powered chassis all have the radiator hose crossing in front of the motor. EDIT: only true of GTE motors (how the...

    Power steering reservoir

if one doesn't relocate, the K&N oil filter has a nut on the top allowing for much easier removal.

    1JZ-GTE Clutch Fan Setups

that may be true.. or they're different part numbers. now that I think of it, I had another 2J clutch on my car before, and the spacing was fine. after buying my current one from driftmotion, I had to space out the fan to keep it from hitting the waterneck.. this makes me doubt what setup I'm...

Is bypassing the Neutral safety switch good?

yeah, bypassing the switch may not even save you from that particular PP.
