I dunno about 7Ms, but I recommend bypassing the switch to just about every JZ owner I meet if they haven't done so already.. plus, the majority of JDM cars I've come across never came with them in the first place..
I wanna say Mike (S.C.) said it was one of the leading causes of failure in the...
+1 chop the rear part of the crash bar/bumper support and make a plate that channels some of the air to the upper part of the I/C..
the turbo-A duct is probably the best mod for flow, but I've always felt that it sacrifices quite a bit of structural rigidity of the bumper support.
well said.. so many people complain about the weight, but it's a more or less a non-issue IMO. that being said, one can remove some weight and still have a comfortable car.
I've been around S-chassis for quite a long time too, and even the S14s are borderline shitboxes as far as I'm concerned...
yeah, it's a really common sight if you go to Japan.. they just care a lot less about turbo life and more about performance etc.. there is also a great public transit system, so a lot of cars are used purely for personal enjoyment; another reason why lower mileage is more common.
I have a AEM uego, but it doesn't datalog (without an external reader, or standalone IIRC), which is the only downside to the unit IMO.. The innovate units and some others have the datalogging ability outside of using a standalone.
most of the time I wire in my own electronics, but for my AFC...
yeah, aftermarket seals do look better IMO.. but combine those with the stock hatch molding (unless someone also figured out a solution for that), and that makes for what I consider to be an ugly combination.
well, I wouldn't remove them period.. so, I will be applying the silicone to where the edge meets the window glass (being careful to remove any excess that would affect aesthetics). I have never seen any others like this, but I'm sure they exist.
the ones on my car haven't been sealing the...
some may argue, but this is true.. and definitely in regards to journal bearing turbos.
BB turbos can actually go for quite some time without them (many Japanese drivers do not run them), and better response is achieved due to less air escaping the system between throttle/off throttle.
as a...
get a downpipe if you haven't already and then purchase the SAFC and wideband.. on my car, I have a boost controller, but with the amount of boost creep the twins see just with a 3" downpipe, I doubt you'd need one. (mine has been zeroed out since day one)
wideband is important for being able...
try putting a few smaller washers where the fan mounts to the clutch, just make sure you mount it securely.. if that doesn't work (dunno why it wouldn't), then you could try shaving some material off the back of the blades like Bigzavs and some other have done.
regardless of how much spacing...
