Hey guys, So I've got a bit of a predicament -- I was trying to mock up my intercooler piping for how I was going to route it, and discovered something in the process. With my radiator in and the A/C pump mounted, there's nowhere to run the pipe from the intercooler outlet into the Throttle...

How did you splice in the wires for the overlay? I had the same problem with those type of gauges on my truck about 9-10 months ago -- turns out my T-tap splices worked loose and the connection was iffy. I went back and used uninsuluated butt-splices and covered with heatshrink and it's worked...

Wait....you used a wire brush to clean the piston tops off, or clean the cylinder walls....?

You want to match them up exactly as they sit in the connector, so it'd probably be best to write down on a piece of paper what color harness wire connects to what color cps wire. Alternatively, you could also do one wire at a time, i.e., cut one wire pairing out of the connector...

I've had both of my supras on full coverage with USAA, never had an issue. They even kept the '91 on FC after they totaled it.....apparently they forgot to drop it to liability like they told me they were going to do.....

- You cut the wires, strip a small section of insulation (about 1/4-3/8"), and 'tin' the wire ends. This is done by putting some solder on the iron, and runnning it along the exposed wire section. Soldering flux makes this easier (you can get it at Sears), as the amount of flux in rosin core...

The cheaper ones you get at Harbor Freight, Autozone, etc. go down to 10lb-ft.

To OP, I've had my 8500 for about 5yrs now, and have yet to get a radar ticket with it in my car. It's picked up the signal up to about 2mi away at times; example, I've had it start to flash on Ka Band and I won't see a cop for about 2min.

Holy shit, there's finally new firmware for it??? Need to get mine done...

Bump -- Does ANYBODY have this info???? I really need to get my car finished, this is pretty much the only big thing holding me up from finishing the motor and dropping it in....

I know it's not TX, but I had my '91 with no EGR, hi-flow cat, and factory ECU pass the sniffer in NV. I'm pretty sure they all go by the same standards.

Normally I'd do that, but with the head gasket being thinner than I needed, the cams sit closer to the block...so they need to be degreed in to line everything back up properly to factory spec.

That was annoying as shit -- I wanted to reach through the computer and break his neck 'super trick'... :evil2:

Yeah, I've got that video saved, doesn't help me -- it's a 2J and they're using aftermarket cams.
