finally finished my motor today. :)
eagle rods and arp bolts.
probe oversized forged pistons
arp head studs
titan 1.4 mls head gasket
decked head and block
new shimmed oil pump
azp oil feed tube
throwing it back in the car with a new act sprung 6 puck, princess motorsports driveshaft, and...
nope, i misread the first post. i saw 550's and figured he said he had them already.
that said........ i will change my previous answer to NO, you can't just put that turbo on.
i'm sure that some people will chime in saying that the stock injectors will work, but i wouldn't risk it if it were...
simple answer........... yes.
i would at least get arp head bolts or studs.
as far as the turbo goes..... i ran a 60-1 turbo with the lex/550 combo for a while. you should be fine under 12psi or so. i was running 15, but i'm a knucle head. lol
so i should balance the crank-flywheel-and clutch as one? won't it be out of balance if i ever change the flywheel or clutch in the future?
OR, do i balance the crank separately from the flywheel?
this is all new to me.
sorry for the questions
it was suggested to me that i have my crank balanced with the flywheel and clutch bolted up to it.
i was wondering how many of you guys have done this? is it common practice to have this done?
also, what happens when you replace the clutch and or flywheel in the future?
i'm only asking so...
good advice. i plan on hitting 400-450 wheel. i'd like a full face that can handle that much power. i was looking into act and spec, but haven't decided yet.
has anyone had experience using an aftermarket disc with a stock pp? i saw somewhere that something like an act 6sprung 6 puck works well with the stock pp.
with the car running, unplug the maf. then try to give it some revs. it should act the same as the symptoms you're describing.
also, you definitely don't need a wideband on a stock car.
i picked up some goodies from the machine shop. :)
bore, honed and decked block, polished crank, gapped rings.
next up is the head and rods should be here tomorrow.
now to figure out what clutch to buy.
