You are right and I did not want what I said above to come off as making it sound like it was. Just saying to layman and having the two side by side the GT looks clipped when in fact the GT wheel is much different.
Jeremy
No its clipped for higher flow, it in fact just clipping a wheel will slow spool.
That is not correct. Spool time has to do with many different factors. Exhaust side dose have something to do with it. Mainly the turbine housing A/R, as well as turbine wheel flow. The CHRA also has some to do...
I have a pre turbo filter on mine and clean it when ever I change the oil (3000kms).
The main part of a GT turbo is the turbine wheel. If you look at it next to a normal T3 or T4 turbine you will see that the GT has a clipped looking wheel and will increase the flow. There are some other...
Turbonetics used or may still use ceramic ball bearings in there turbos. I know for a long time they had problems with reliability. I can not see a triple ball bearing turbo being of any benefit. If anything I would expect to see more frictional loss with a triple ball bearing. I guess there...
I have a MKIII and am having problems finding any info about good wheel and tire setups for track use. As well as any one doing any decent work on the suspension. For now I have Racing Gear N1 coil overs, I also have some Bilstein coil overs needing a rebuild. Any one have any MKIII specific...
Jay, I have not had that problem with mine. I run a T67 DBB .68ar and 4" all the way to split 3", no restriction and holds 14psi solid all the way to 7500rpm.
Jeremy
Thats right, he has the parts on order and we will see how they fit once they get here. If it fits I will be changing from my Spals over to the mechanical.
Jeremy
That set up did not work well at all for BIC, he ended up with a big hole in his Koyo rad at the drag strip. This happend in Vegas and he is now getting the parts he listed above to solve this issue.
Again a MKIV TT clutch & fan with Aluminum rad will not work, its just too clouse.
Jeremy
You ask what’s a safe speed? A safe speed is what the road conditions dictate. Most of this comes down to your skill as a driver, there is no way you should be spinning everywhere. If you are spinning everywhere you need to slow the fuck down and back off the gas. Tires do play a roll in this...
I would not say there growing in popularity, there just getting cheap now so every kid in high school can afford one. There getting more popular for moding because of all the cheap shit parts that can be had on Ebay made in China. It’s better than getting a civic and has more "tuning" potential...
I tell people mine is a Probe all the time, I do not give a shit if they call it somthing its not. Dose it really matter what they think it is when they see it?
Have to rememeber its just a old ass car that looks simular to Ford Probes, Dodge datona's, Mazda MX-6 (old ones) and 240sx's...
