how are you going to attach the al. housing to the steel arm? and why mix materials? Why not use pipes? And smaller diameters to get it stiffer?

Thank you very much :) We'll see what it looks like out in better light. There's a risk that I will redo the rear arches with replacement arches for a celica. But then again, after all this work I might just go with what I have :)

ok, is 19 mm the thickness of the coolers that you used?

My best bet is that it's spot welded and a pry bar would do a lot more damage than you want. So find the spot welds and drill them out. Use a designated spot weld drill or another one with a ground tip.
