Hello,
As you have seen in my project thread I have not done anything with the engine and the only thing I have done with the cluster and ECU is that I have removed them from the car.
The engine starts and runs good.
So that would indicate that the ECU is getting an rpm signal, correct...

Today I took care of the suspension arms.
I installed all the bushings in their arms and then I installed front left suspension.
I installed both the upper control arm and the lower ball joint to the hub and torqued
them before I installed that assembly onto the...

Today I changed the shifter bushings. I don't think that I should have removed
the old one with a knife, but it was stuck in there.
The new one was a bitch to install and I couldn't install it with the rubber ring
underneath. Is it supposed to be there with the...

Today I finished the rear toe arms with some red paint and I cleaned of the stickers
from the cam bolts between the coats.
The stickers were not easy to remove :S
About the diesel sound in the movies in the last update is probably because of the
spark plug wire...
The cat sound was the power steering so now it sounds good :)
The hight pitch sound is the intake.
All I need now is a harness and a bolt for one of the rear calipers.
EDIT: I forgot you IJ. There are small rubber hoods to put on the heim joints so that will keep them sealed. As you...
I did another test start today with spark wires in their right places and filled power steering reservoir(not bled).
It sounds like a proper engine now, but I have a "strangle a cat sound". But it got lesser and lesser and now it's gone after I turned the wheels by hand (still no steering wheel...
I havent done anything to the engine except from removing and reinstalling some parts. And it ran fine when I parked it.
The first film actually shows try number 4. The first one didnt go well due to me bringing another battery. During the second one I heard the "metal on metal" sound and got...

Big update today!
The mission: Don't leave the garage until the engine is started.
Before I could set my focus on turning the key and smell the fumes from my 7M-GTE
I had to complete my rear toe arms.
I used drill bits to finish the reinforcement plates and...

Several parts for the hand brake assembly
Wiking, thank you very much :)
It's good that you think the supra is getting better treatment than the mazda, since I'm always learning and trying to improve my work as best as I can. (Compromises are unfortunately unavoidable)
gemiz, yes, thats the idea. But I will not rush it. The...
Thanks you my Norwegian neighbors :)
It's nice to get some response. As usual I'm behind on updates but I need to move the supra from my garage this week so I'm working hard on getting it rolling.
-:|Update - 2010-10-09|:-
There were some other people in the garage working on another car
which made today a lot more fun :)
The fuel tank is now completely painted now.
To save some time and to make it easier for now till I have a new garage
for the supra (still nowhere to put it) I...
-:|Update - 2010-10-02|:-
Today I spent som time in my new garage (still no place for the supra) and
the idea was to paint a coat on the calipers and brackets.
But when I started mixing the paint itself was not like it should. Comp. A (the paint)
need some mixing on its own since all the...
Thank you SG,
I'm using Mison 18 for shield gas.
On the structural members I had some problem with contamination (glue or sealant) between the plates, so the welds in the pics might lie sometime. The welds have burnt through which I checked by looking at the welding area from the other side. I...

Today I wanted to primer the sway bars and the other bars.
When I had put the paint gun together and prepared everything else I
noticed that I didnt have any primer with me :S
I made a call to a friend who told me that the frame in one of our
formula student...
Hello sous,
I used a thin chisel type of tool with an wide edge and a hammer.
I used 2 mm thick sheet metal to reinforce the rear subframe. But before you do, open her up and weld the nuts holding the diff in place. So cut her open, install your diff and weld the nuts.
