UPDATE on the code 52: I checked my solder job and it looked good but I decided to resolder them anyway. Well it worked and its not throwing the code anymore. I guess that was just my novice soldering job. I feel much more confident about these welds though. Thanks Frank.
Okay, about a month ago, I got the code 52 and the car drove like shit, and I got the knock sensor rewire kit from Shaeff. I installed that and no more code 52 and car drove great. Well between yesterday and today my car has thrown the code 52 three times but it drives fine. It just runs...
You can search and find out how to do it on your own or you can get one from Shaeff. I bought one from Shaeff, and all you have to do is solder in two wires to wiring harness under the dash. Very easy and it worked.
Thanks, I would need one with just one port for the PCV connection.
EDIT, sorry didnt read my quote in your post just assumed you quoted my last post.
Thanks though.
What irritates me is I tried to help in his other thread and went ahead and made a new one before my post even went thru.:3d_frown:
The stereotype lives on......
Im glad you retaliated in such a immature manner, I was hoping for it.....this way I know your stay at Supramania wont be a long one.:biglaugh:
You guys just love giving highschool punks a bad name.....such a shame.
I was just like this guy! I was going from NA to turbo so I couldnt rebuild my motor and when I bought the JDM 7MGTE, everyone said to rebuild it but I couldnt resist wanting the power so I put the motor in. I drove for about 2 months and was so disappointed in the power that I decided to use...
Okay, first I tried to help in the OTHER thread that you started, now this is just you needing to learn some patience! Next time relax and give people enough time to help you with YOUR problem not ours! Last time I checked this service wasnt charged by the hour such as a local mechanic would.
Yep, for the n/a supra it the AFM code, but for your 87 7MGTE it the HAC sensor code. I pulled this from cygnus.
HAC Sensor Signal(7M-GTE)
Diagnosis(HAC Sensor Signal(7M-GTE))

I know the code 52 bug, I replaced my turbo and head gasket and then when I put it back together, I got the knock sensor code. It was random, yet still a problem. So I ordered the knock sensor rewire kit from Shaeff(mod on here) and installed it and no more code 52!
As far as the AFM code...
Had the same problem here, those warning lights came on and I replaced the alternator but it still didnt help.....you need to replace you alternator wires. They could be burned out of just really old. I replaced mine and now it charges and starts with out problems.
