When I got my turbine housing ceramic coated, it was a huge difference! I didnt have heat shields on my other turbo and it got insanely hot under the hood, but since getting it coated, I can make runs and still hold my hand 1-2 inches from the turbo without getting burned. If the price is...
This statement alone would make me nervous in taking advice from this mechanic. I agree with Techno Supra, no reason to cut a corner here, unless you bought new OEM headbolts, those could be okay.
You never mentioned it but did you take the head and block to the machine shop to get decked...
Its not a failure of the Staff or anybody on the forum, IMO. I just think he may (like a lot of supra owners) have a friend who is a Honda enthusiast and suggests him to certain brand name parts. I know that when people ask me about my exhaust(BIC) and I tell them that its a custom exhaust...
Okay, I figured that I would update this thread a little. Today I decided to install my SAFC, and while I was wiring it up I found a wire that had been cut right through and taped on both ends. Checked the pinout of the ECU and it was my O2 sensor signal.....WTF? So I wired the two back...
Check the vendors on here first, they have always beaten suprastore's prices on the exact same products. I would go through driftmotion personally, you cant beat their customer service and prices.
Thank you sir, I wasnt a member here during the last deployment, but were heading back out in Feb, so being able to conversate with the folks on here will make things a little easier I believe.
The only reason that I figured up the hours was because my wife told me that someone in the US had said something about how the military gets paid too much for what they do. So I decided to find out how much I make hourly......well, my pay divided by 144 hrs a week brought me to making just...
Im in the Marine Corps and while in the US, I work around 50 hrs a week. While I was in Iraq, I worked 144 hrs a week. We worked 72 on 24 off. Staying awake and alive for 3 days straight can be a chore if youve never done it before.
Okay, I think the point that everyone is trying to make is that it only takes 15-30 seconds to pull the codes, and any post that you will make on a forum takes longer than that. I know that with the limited amount of funds that I have I cannot afford to replace anything that may or may not fix...
I took all the bolts off and put them in a ziplock baggy and labeled them for reference when I replaced my turbo and headgasket. Its a lot easier to put back together when you know which bolt goes to where.
^^^^The headgasket is definitely a part that I would replace while the engine is out of the car, and if youre not going to rebuild the motor then I would get the block and head decked for a metal headgasket, you may not see it necessary for your goals at the time, but it wouldnt hurt to have it...
Well, keep me posted, O2 sensors are too expensive for me to replace in hopes that it fixes the problem.
Can a mod change title of the thread that suits the current problem?
Thanks,
Brandon
When I resoldered them, the code went away, but Im still wondering why my car stumbles under partial throttle. At wot, it drives fine but at cruising speeds, it starts stumbling and decreases speed. Anyone got any ideas?
