Camshafts - Long Term Storage Preparation?

Hello all, I am going with a set of BC264 cams in my current build but I have a set of mint OEM camshafts from my JDM motor with 31k miles on them that I plan on storing for a long time for a future build. What is the best product/storage advice you would recommend on these camshafts to keep...

    Help! Supra doesn't run right

My 87 turbo uses a 80 amp alternator. The difference is the non turbo Supra uses a slightly smaller 70 amp alternator. Best to go with the highest output one you can get. I heard of people running the MR2 alternator which is rated at 100 Amps but you need the pulley from a 89+ alternator.

Has anyone tried the Oreo cereal? I remember it from awhile back when they used to have it but they brought it back this year.

    Powder Coating

Re: power coating I have not heard of anyone power coating that part. I did mine in a few coats of VHT black high heat engine block paint and then a few clear coats with the same brand of paint. Its been holding up very nicely so far.

    Oil squirter bolt breakage

I notice that on most newer Toyota's, the bolts come with the chrome like plating. The older ones had a yellowish zinc coating on every bolt which helped a lot to prevent rust. I always say to myself "look at those mint bolts" on those older Toyota's in the junkyard. Even older Honda's used to...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Nice job on that harness Raggan. Are you using 1" braided sleeve on the big firewall section? Also did you use a heat gun to keep it from upbraiding at the ends and splits?

cutting out and backfiring at 2200rpm

Are you still using the 7m CPS sensor? How are the grounds on the cylinder block and cylinder head?

    Intermittent 7mgte misfire

What is your fuel pressure at idle with the vacuum line connected and without the vacuum line connected? Does it stumble right away when the motor is first started cold or warmed up or both? For me, I would think it would be something related with the CPS giving a poor signal, how is the...

A Look inside the Stock Muffler

Stock 7 M GTE head bolts or ARP bolts?

To be honest it was a pain putting the cylinder head on because I had the studs installed (wanted to make sure they were all the same and fully seated) and tried to put the cylinder head on but the washers need to be installed before you put the cylinder head on if you go that route of...

    Bypass; Heater Control Valve

Thanks. I bought that crowl trim piece as a set and it came with carbon fiber door skill plates (which I have yet to install) about 8 years ago on ebay. They don't really list these kind of products anymore that much but your best bet is this place. They are the cheapest and offer tons of cool...

What do you call these parts??

WHATTT ARE Thossseee??? sorry I had to. I think you might find a good replacement in the pluming section of your local hardware store. I know the rubber seals that go inside the toilet tank that the two hold down bolts go through may be a good match for the 3000 intake pipe. I would even almost...

Stock 7 M GTE head bolts or ARP bolts?

Out of the 5 7mGTE motors I have had worked on in the past 2 of them came with ARP headstuds and 1 with ARP headbolts previously installed. I think by now almost all of the factory headgaskets have been changed or upgraded and most have upgraded to ARP hardware also. They say the studs provide...

They are Gates hoses but it is the same style as the OEM. They also measured 5/8" and the fitting fits very good.

    Oil squirter bolt breakage

I was able to toque mine down to spec on a 3/8" torque wrench with a 6" extension but you have to make sure they are clean, bone dry and free of any oil in the block threads and surfaces. Use some brake parts cleaner to make sure it is dry. I would not use assembly lube on that part because it...
