What igniter are you using? What coils? Did you set the dwell and and the dwell edge?
I know alot of you are thinking valves, but how does a valve bend 90 degrees back, to hit just the outside edge of the piston and bend back in to shape? The edges of the pistons are melted witch = detonation.
Yes they can. I've used that setup for many years. With anything like this you have to have the car tuned. Don't just plug it in and turn up the boost.
I changed my starter once, it had 200,000 miles on it. The original turbos are out in Texas right now with over 200,00 miles on them. Does that count as a daily driver?
I just had four of them done. My machine shop has a book that tells them what the step is on flywheels. :naughty: 20 thou is what they told me. I will have a better idea in a few minutes.

If the car was auto before, and you have removed the auto shifter I assume, there will be no more wiring done to start the car. The rest is up to the wiring under the dash, in the big square connector to start the car. This is also asuming that the harness for the 1jz was from a 5 speed.
