head and block were both decked for a mhg like 10k miles ago.
i guess i will helicoil it then. that burnout turned into much more of a headache than i had planned lol.
btw, what are the stock size studs?
i was reading over some threads a few days ago and i thought from what i was reading, that just tapping to 7/16's would hold fine. i only have a metric threading set and i wasnt sure i wanted to buy another set, thats why i was checking what the next size was i could do (apparently its...
no im not gonna helicoil if i can help it.
i figure i am just going to tap the holes out to the next size now that two of them stripped. but im not sure the original size.
what is the next size up? and where can i get a stud and nut that will fit as a replacement?
thanks

yes i have a thermometer but my supra hasnt been running in awhile and now im putting it back together. i cant take a reading without it running :)
hightemp powder coat is very different than regular. I did my cousin's exhaust manifold and hotside of his turbo and it held up...
im a powder coater not a ceramic coater:)
i know the actual manifold gets hot but i wasnt sure that that much heat could be transferred through the air.
Im wondering how hot the heat shield for the exhaust manifold on a stock 7mgte gets?
if its over 400 degrees far., i will have to use high temp powder coat:3d_frown:
the w58 wont last long at 500rwhp
185k is a lot of miles even if you do replace that stuff. stock pistons should be fine but i dont know about pistons with 185k on them lol.
my advice would be to get a lower mileage motor. You can find them for pretty cheap and you will save money in the...
so lets say i upgrade the turbo to a 57 trim or something which will flow more cfm at the same psi.... i will be able to run less psi than before without hitting fc?
stalker! how did you know that was me?:biglaugh:
it was either my supra or my rx7 and i sold the rx7 so the supra just went into project mode. sadly ill be rolling in the bimmer this year but i wouldnt miss this event for anything.
