blah. anyone wanna tell me what this thing is worth? i have no time anymore. i would have to take off work to have time to work on rebuilding this and i really cant afford that.
as it sits... with the rod knock.... otherwise very clean and good running car... whats it worth?
moved to the raindate!!!
its back again!
Your favorite springtime event is back, and it'll be bigger and better than ever with great raffles, vendors, and more cars and people than we've ever had before. We will also have a DJ at the event playing music at a reasonable volume and...
i really like the idea of a v8 in my supra:biglaugh: but someone made a build thread about swapping theirs in and then they started talking about all this transmission mounting stuff and converting to hydrolic and such... it was way over my head anyway. the swap seemed like it would be uber...
its sorta funny cause i actually opened a new thread to post this thing up for sale and then i remember i had updated in here so i decided to check.... now i dont think im selling it lol.
one thing i know, that 7m is coming out. and i highly doubt it is going back in. it just gives me a bad...
yeah definitely rod knock.:3d_frown:
i was kinda expecting it so i cant say i am overly upset right now.
is it possible to just drop the oilpan and replace the bearings from underneath?
yeah i cant figure this out. i bought another gauge (prosport) and hooked it up. it lights up and drops to -20psi and then slowly climbs to +30psi where it maxes out and stays there.
:3d_frown:
im tempted to build another motor for this the right way but im unsure of the difficulty of swapping a new one in. im careful in my work but i have a bad memory and remembering where all that wiring goes seems like a nightmare to me.
i think your right. and i know my dad and uncles tell me about all the sweet muscle cars they used to own and how they wish they never sold them...
i wonder how pissed my kids will be when they find out i used to own a mk3 supra haha.
time for some engine diagnostics. gonna start with...
i guess it becomes more of a "is it really worth it" thing. looking back at how much time and money i put into it, i should have just bought a 1jz:biglaugh:
we just did a photoshoot today. i will post up some pics later of the poopra once they are edited.
I love my supra. but im getting sick of it.\
1989 turbo targa
bought it in 2007 for $1k. it was in terrible shape but ran pretty good. daily drove it for a year and then blew the headgasket. swapped a low mileage 7mgte in with arp headstuds and mhg for around 3k. added some minor mods like...
that would be very helpful thankyou.
but this still isnt why the gauge wont give a reading.
it reads -1bar if the ground on the sensor is grounded, whether the red wire is connected to power or not. but as soon as i remove the ground it goes to +2bar.
anyone have pics of what the stock gauge looks like?
even with it unhooked it should read 0bar and it doesnt. thats why im pretty sure it has nothing to do with where it is hooked up at.
