i have this same problem, searched for weeks, then finally gave up. my next step is switching out the actual multifunction switch on the steering column.
unfortunately i didnt make a thread for it. im doin it for a local, i've done it a couple times now lol.
if you have an questions you could PM me, or just post em up here so future BHG fixers have another reference.
you do NOT need to remove the engine to put head studs in, and both the bolts and the studs need to be retorqued after 5 heat cycles.
i am in the process of fixing a BHG with ARP headstuds and a felpro HG, only pulled the head, block and everything else is still in ther car.
my advice is, if...
B & H auto supply is the guy i used. my teacher from my HS machine shop referred me to him, got my head cleaned and surfaced, got the block cleaned (but he doesnt do hot tanking, just a solvent cleaning) and decked. he does boring, honing, and head work too iirc.

i got lucky with one car i got for $700 with the 7m and w58 had every single mod i have on the car now (tbe...
damn i might have to do this as well!
only thing, it seems the car is running slow trap speed for the power numbers it put down. with those numbers you should be a lot closer to 110mph at least. how bad was it spinning off the line?
i do have a dyno sheet, i'll upload it shortly. still gotta scan it.
how'd you get 300whp with the stocker? how you control the boost spike?
im gonna do a compression test cuz this motor had BHG and all i did was replace the head gasket lol.
but i have to say, for less than 2 grand in...
sorry i didnt specify, mods are lex afm, 550's, afpr, safc2 to tune, dump ddp, tanabe catback w/ testpipe, couple washers in the WGA, and a BC at its lowest setting. felpro hg w. arp studs torqued to 82
nope, i still need to try a deff one, but for now as long as my plug is in the perfect position it runs and idles perfect. even swapped out the plug with another one i had and the same problem....
went to the dyno today to tune my car a lil bit, and up the boost. i do my 1st pull and HOLY SHIT 276whp and 300wtq and it peaked @ 15psi. boost would creep from 10 to 15 then taper back down to 10 around 6k. the afr was a lil lean until 3500 then it richened up but only till around 12.0, after...
took me an hour to do mine today, theres 4 bolt on the rear of the diff, 2 under, 4 holding it to the driveshaft, and 6 on either side for the axels, then it drops down.
oooohhhh i think hes got a turbo mk3 and just got a n/a mk3 and he wants to swap his turbo motor into the n/a chassis.
if this is what you wanna do, then find out the years of both cars, and are they 5 spd or auto?
if you havent got the 2nd car yet, try to find one with the same tranny...
ya, to get a useful sponsor you're cars gotta be fast already...
no one is gonna give just anyone discounted parts, only the fast and well known cars get the good sponsors.
put the engine to 0 degrees on the crank mark, make sure piston 1 is at tdc, make sure the cam gear marks line up, make sure the dowel pins are in the correct positions, then make sure your cps looks like this.
then go get yourself a timing light.
