    15w40 okay?

the same. unless you are dealing with extreme heat issues (running your oil well over 212deg), your weight wouldn't change. read this: http://63.240.161.99/motoroil/

Best head gasket: cometic vs hks , etc

I am in the process of doing what jdub has listed (and a little more, here and there) and even cutting corners where I can (do not associate that with 'cheep') I have eclipsed that 5-6K mark. and by more than $100...quite a bit more. Not to be said it can't be done for less, but you will find...

Best head gasket: cometic vs hks , etc

ARP does say to torque all of their new hardware a min of 3x's to set a 'stretch'. Using their lube its 80ft lbs, 30wt oil, 100lbs. When hardware has heat cycled, no need to retorque. (this is for studs; heads and mains) when in doubt, you can always call ARP's tech line. They will help you out.

Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

Will- are you talking about a soft line set-up? Or are you going the hard-line route? When I get my block back from the machinest I was looking at doing a hardline set-up (don't trust the braided line over the long run). Thanks for doing the research for all the thread sizes - this will...

Looking to buy a new computer....??

over the summer I built an amd sys for my brother for moderate gaming. for about $800 (19" LCD to keyboard) and some OC'ing, he's got an 3000+ (@2.25, stock cooling, 939pin, not am2), gig o' ram, ATI 800gto, 320 gig perp recording HD and a few other goodies. Even on windoz MC, its one of the...

    ceramic coatings by Jdub

Boys and girls- If you were ever thinking about having some parts coated, look no further than Jdub - he did an incredible job on the stuff I've sent him (with more to be done). I posted an A+ in the buyers/sellers forum with pics, but I wanted to post in here so everyone else could see...

wheel / tire width for 17" rears

for 17X8, i say 35 (what I have). I'm sure you could fit 32 with no rub (in rear) but then other factors (tire width, aspect ratio, car height, etc) start to come into play. I run 17x8 w/ 245/45/17 on dropped car with no rub front or rear. I have a little room in the rear to go more positive...

    WHICH CLUTCH?? NEED IT FAST!

a few things: clutches are measured by torque output, not HP (though you usually can do the math to figure this out) check mkiiitech.org for Dr. J's info on pressure plates and clutch discs if all else fails, contact Andy at SBC. Good clutches, good people, good prices.

I'm considering a Borla exhaust with dual tips. Need your opinions!

yes that is the one, but no, I don't have any pics with me that would show it. I can look when I get home. The motor is out right now, so it looks a little funky just hanging there. what I can tell you is there was a significant sound difference with and without it. It really smooths the...

I'm considering a Borla exhaust with dual tips. Need your opinions!

I did something similar, but its a single 3" in/out Borla with a 3.5" intercooled tip. I run a cat and resonator; at idle its pretty mellow, cruising its a little bit louder than stock (not too much), but when you get on it, its plenty loud enough (in my opinion). Overall, the sound is much...

Ways to cure 7M oiling issues

There is a swagelok distributer over in Sunnyvale that I'll try to check out next week. I'll see if they have something that makes 'sense' to use. I'm going to look into having a hard line made up with a pipe fitting on the pump end and then change the output on the pump (similar to what Greg...
