I like manny's set-up, and it would clear most tubos without issue. The concerns I would have are: what would you have to remove/relocate to wrap around the shock tower (iirc fuel pump resistor would get in the way...maybe that is it) and there might be issues with different strut bars (4pt bar...
same thing happened w/ my av3's (I use gorilla nutz). unfortunately, i think its due to poor hole design. I tried some other lug nuts that used an internal hex key, but they had a habit of coming loose.
you could always try some spray on white grease on the outside of the key and then wipe it...
I prefer the feel of Koni's - you can adjust the rebound to fit your needs/springs. They if you want a stiffer feel, then bilstiens are your fit. I went from stock to JIC flt-2's to koni/tanabe. The latter is much more fitting to a GT car - not nearly as nimble at the JIC's, but the ride...
Who's car is this? My brother found it on CL the other day for sale.
If i needed another supra (don't we all need a few?) I couldn't think of a reason not to buy it...

Gotcha. I knew you had good intentions, and your points were valid. there needs to be more audio heads speaking out IMO - its good for the community when people have real experience accross a variety of areas. Thanks for your info!
slow down tiger, its ok...:icon_eek:
John was just sharing his experience with us. While those that really like to play with car audio know not only are we dealing with a technically shitty container (the car interior) but also have to have things asthetically pleasing. This will always lead...

just some things to think about when searching for car speakers/ comp set-ups...
With the JICs you will able to tuck, no problem. I actually adjusted them quite a bit to fit 2 fingers between the tire and the wheel opening.
They are firm, and will make that big car handle like a gokart. after almost 2 years, they were too much for me as for daily use - besides, the rears...
I had the same thing (one was OE, the other i bought brand new)
Using ford svt contour efans w/ SPAL controller. Does good w/ stock rad 95% of the time - when its hot (90+) ambient both fans seem to run alot, but i have never had an overheating problem with this setup (running since jan)...
I actaully started to the same thing (originally) but the magnet for my mid was too big - my margin of error for mounting was really slim if i didn't want to cut sheetmetal (which i didn't)- hence the reason for the plate assembly.
While each reccomendation will work, it is highly dependent...
